The key to Liverpool ever winning the title is for Liverpool to forget winning the title. Every time we get ahead of ourselves, we drop stupid points and we're gone. I don't particularly care at this stage of the season about where we finish - I just care about beating Everton this Saturday.

It's a cliche, but a good dose of 'one week at a time' doesn't hurt at all.

Okay, lets see here AC.

Liverpool beat Man Utd 2-1 at Anfield (who have been our bogey side for ages now), without Torres being involved at all and Gerrard played about half an hour.

So with that being said, our two main stars weren't fit and only one of them featured. Yet we beat the reigning champions.

I fail to see how we cannot match it with them? If we manage to beat Arsenal and Chelsea at home as well, there's already 7 more points from last season (inc. the win against United).

There's no reason why we cant win the league and all the negativity you post is because you realise that Liverpool are a genuine chance to win the league and you don't want to admit it.

Man City beat Man United twice last season, there is a big difference between winning the odd game against top teams (something Liverpool have had huge difficulty in doing) and mounting a title run.

But in my opinion, Liverpool are a lot better than the rest (besides say Man City if all the signings gel together for an entire season). If Liverpool can win the games against the others in the top 4 and turn those frustrating draws when teams park the bus into wins, we'll be right there in the race at the end of the season.

Man City may have beaten Man Utd twice last season, but how'd you go against Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool? Even the other sides in the top 7, that's the difference.

I tend to think that Liverpool would be better served focussing their energies on staying above the chasing pack (Villa, Man City) than focussing on a pretty unattainable dream of catching up to Chelsea and Man United.
Thats the problem.

You are.

West Ham did the double a couple of years ago too and they almost got relegated.

Oh and Djibby, you may have beaten United but what did you do the week after? Draw 0-0 at home to Stoke! That is hardly Title winning form.

It's the fact that you delude yourselves that your team is adequately talented is the most perplexing part of the whole thing.
What i find particularly perplexing is why you seem to hang out on another teams board so much - are you THAT unsatisfied with your own teams?

Liverpool could barely create a chance against Aston Villa.

And lets be honest, Villa concede quite alot.

Not a title winning attack.

Manchester United create chances and score goals against Aston Villa in their sleep.

Well, some people are overreacting over one slip up and come to this forum and troll the crap outta this place. Same as those who overreacted at the Man Utd win

Even champion teams have slip ups every now and again (Not even saying that we're anywhere near one), it's a string of slipups that would be a problem. We've hit massively bad months in past seasons, let's see if this will happen at some point

And lols at those who say that coz you're mediocre you gotta accept being mediocre and stop trying. Nice principle to live your life. Not that I'm particularly keen on some deluded people thinking we can actually challenge for the title, but there's a balance between too much expectation and too little.

If we can stop talking about winning the damn title and just go at it one game at a time then we'd do far better. Not that I believe we have a squad to win the title, but doing better than last season would be nice

In general the three people you mention spend a lot of time on the FOOTBALL board, they talk anything and everything football...

Lowie's right, you guys need to take it one game at a time. At first make sure that you are beating the likes of Stoke consistantly.

The key thing IMO is finding an alternate option for goals rather then Torres. Being able to break down teams that are parking the bus against you guys, rather then just thinking give it to Torres, he will save us etc... The key to this is quality wide players, forcing the opposition defence to spread and put pressure out wide. Reira was a great buy, and if you can get someone else consistantly good on the other wing (Babel isnt a 90 minute player yet IMO) then you will be getting somewhere.

We finished 11 points behind the leaders last season, the gap wasn't that huge. We lost less games then Manchester United last season

If we convert more of those draws/losses into wins we can match it with the leaders.
If Derby could have converted all those 6-0 drubbings into 1-0 wins they would have been able to do win the premiership. Fact of the matter is, you have to have the cattle to do it and IMO, you guys cant yet get the consistant results against sides that park the bus like Stoke...

Out of the 10,000 odd posts in this thread, how many are from AC and Moomba trying to bait the odd Liverpool supporter?

Kind of sad and pathetic really.;)
This thread is a thread to talk about Liverpool Football Club... it isnt a thread for ZOMG Man U >>>>>>>>>>Liverpool Fowler 0 Giggs 10 yarda yarda yard... Its to talk about LFC...

If people here do however talk junk, you have to expect someone like Moomba or AC to point it out...;)

Who the **** are you anyway???

Why do so many people on here whinge when an opposition supporter posts on "their" board? Don't you like getting a different opinion? Banter is always good and it's interesting to hear what opposition fans have to say (yes, even jod sometimes).

I don't recall you posting too much on this board yet you have the nerve to come in here and slag off some of the best posters because they are saying 'not nice' things about a team you supposedly support.

You would think that being a Fremantle supporter as well as a Liverpool supporter I would be used to crap results like the one against Stoke. BUT I AM NOT! I fu**ing knew we would drop points in this game, and low and behold we did. F**k F**k F**k!!!!!:thumbsdown:

I think if you read through the pages on this thread you'll see quite divergent opinions on any number of issues relating to LFC from within the ranks of Liverpool supporters. We don't need supporters of opposition clubs coming here on fishing expeditions.

If you've got something constructive to say, fair enough, but if its just for a stir, expect a short sharp response.
