I actually reckon Bellamy will be a good signing at the price - doesn't make him any less of a twat, but he is an excellent finisher and could link up well with Crouchzinho.

I also got my hands on a copy of the Liverpool Echo from the Monday after the FA Cup final - I will never bag the Herald Sun for its parochialism again. 28 pages of Liverpool (and not a newsworthy article among them).

Bellamy is by no means a dud, he's a fantastic player, Newcastle and Blackburn fans will tell you that

The problem is his capacities as a human being, he better pull his head in.

He's exactly what we're looking for, and he will come at a cheaper price than Crouch. If he pulls his weight and also stay fit, he'd be a good signing.

Apparently we're after Kuyt as well, but after we sign Alves (Most likely), can't see us splashing big cash on Kuyt again

what does this tell you grasshopper? ;)
It tells me Dr Crow-mo, that you don't understand what I meant by that. This is an argument we are having based on who we support. If you support Liverpool, of course you are going to say they are an elite club. If you don't support them, you wouldn't say that. It's all opinionated. And who on this board has the qualifications to comment with any authority. We're all just fans after all.

Anyway, you didn't answer my question. In your opinion, how many elite clubs are there in the world? And who are they?

Oh and who do you support?

My list would include the following:

In no particular order

-Manchester United
-Real Madrid
-Barcelona
-AC Milan
-Juventus
-Inter Milan
-Liverpool
-Chelsea
-Bayern Munich
-Arsenal

Not quite there:

Lyon
Ajax
PSV
Valencia
Porto

something like that anyway.

Poor Jerzy. That really is pretty low, I mean its one thing to take a TV and his car... but to take all his personal belongings and things that are obviously close to his heart? Just low....

Have read a report that we have signed Bellamy. 4 years at about 45,000p a week. I for one am reasonably happy with that. He starts with a clean slate in my book. :thumbsu:

And if Cisse does head to Marseille on loan - do you think God will take his Number 9 shirt back or stick with 11?

Bellamy has been offically signed. Fee believed to be £6 million.:thumbsu:

A good a bit of business, especially when you consider what other British strikers, Johnson, Ashton, Owen, have been bought for recently. Hopefully leaves a good deal left in the kitty for Kuyt.

I wonder how many Serie A players are going to be looking for new clubs soon:D  :D

Well Bellamy sounds pretty enthusiastic about coming and maybe he can change his ways. He also took a bit of a pay cut to come which is kind of a good will gesture.

What are peoples thoughts on Kuyt? I have been a bit disappointed thus far with what i have seen from him.

Hasnt been at his best has he but form is temporary, class is permanent. I would still entertain the thought of signing him. Im going to have to reserve judgement on Bellamy until midway through the season I think. Alves is almost a done deal for 10 million apparently.

If we had to pick one of the three, who would best suit our needs from:

Simao Sabrosa
Dirk Kuyt
Daniel Alves

Given they will all cost around the 10m pound mark (give or take) who do you think we should go after the hardest. Could we get two of them?

Also, great to see Jerzy got his stuff back too :D

Wouldn't count on Sabrosa. Benfica screwed us around and i dont think Benitez would deal with them again.

Is Alves really in the bag... everytime we get close to a deal, they just keep upping the price. It's stupid. Would love Kuyt. We still need another striker.

Did Dudek get his stuff back? Anybody got a link?

In other news, Mark Gonzalez's will know after the 5th of July whether he will be wearing a red shirt next year, with Rafa & Rick Parry both attending the hearing.

Also, Koptalk report that we're linked with Athletico Madrid "starlet" Paco Regalon.

Personally, i've never heard of the guy  Just did a Google search, and can't find anything about him - age, position, etc. - all it says is that he's one of the La Liga's youngsters about to take the league by storm.

Thought the hearing was tomorrow?

Even if we don't get the work permit, he'll be eligible for a Spanish passport right about now anyway, the problem is the time to get that bloody passport

It's a joke that he doesn't get it when there are far inferior players having no troubles getting one
