Do they play you for money or is it just a bit of fun? Surely if you were trying to pick up a customer you'd be letting them win.

It's for a bit of fun, as let's be honest the middle aged white guys going to Thailand to sleep with sex workers probably aren't the most outgoing of people and likely somewhat socially awkward. It's a good little icebreaker for them to build rapport and feel comfortable. Inadvertently found myself doing this while in Phuket, as I didn't realise that's what the underlying purpose of it was, I just thought the bar girls were being super friendly.

Haha this happened to me and a mate in vegas but not bartenders. 2 stunners came up to us in a bar and said we should buy them a drink. Get chatting, they were very flirty and wanted to come back to our room. We go to the bar, buy drinks without it dawning on us. "Must be the aussie accent has them interested", yeah that's it LOL. Idiots

Mate of mine fell for this. Took a stunner back to his room, then when she was leaving she asked for her money.......

Actually happened to me in Jamaica many years ago, I was just 20 and at one of the many beach bars with mates. Started dancing with a local girl, thought the same thing, must be the accent:rolleyes:, and after a while she suggested we “go into the bushes”
So off we go and do what you do, after which she puts her hand out and asks for $100US, I reply with “* off! $100 US, What are you on about?” at which point this rather large man with a machete in his hand emerges from the darkness and in a very deep voice says “Pay the girl”
Naturally I started backpedaling and say “That was never mentioned (I’d been in Jamaica for about a week by now so worked out how to haggle) how about $10US?” and we settled on $30US before I bolted back to the sanctuary of the bar, tell my mates what happened who piss themselves laughing and still feel the need to remind me of it, nearly 20 years later.

Brazil is the only place I've gone where they actually go for you as an Aussie with no expectation of money...

Very strange as they'd be the best looking.

My sister in law met Brian Lara at the casino one night in Perth. He was buying her and other girls drinks all night. I was there too and he was nice enough. He got her number on WhatsApp and still messages her every now and then.
did they do the dirty?

The West Indies players were notorious pantsmen on their tours here back in the 70s and 80s, Joel Garner's exploits with the ladies are legendary.

I remember seeing some footage from the WSC in the late 70s and they crossed to the West Indies dressing room and some hot blonde tart was in there and she quickly scurried out of there when she realised she was on camera. Must have been giving them a "massage" to settle their nerves.

Gayle and Dwayne Bravo were the modern day West Indies pantsmen, Gayle overstepped the line with the Mel McLaughlin "don't blush baby" thing but it went way overboard when the media here tried to make him out to be some sort of sexual predator, he rightly sued them in court and won.

Not surprisingly Gayle has never been back to Australia after the court case and I don't blame him, all the entertainment he provided here as a cricketer and he gets hounded for one silly flirty comment said in jest.

Yeah Mel McLaughlin is smoking hot, a good female sports presenter too.

Can't blame Gayle for throwing a line at her, she wasn't that offended herself it was more the Karen brigade that got offended on her behalf.

yeah yeah yeah another good call for plugger. Keep em coming mate, you sound like an absolute fool.

Ah ya know what. I must be losing patience in my old age. Ignore. So sick of reading posts defending the sexist pigs and the pedos.

I'm not defending Ross Harris or Chris Gayle's off field behaviour but it won't stop me enjoying their talents as a painter or a batsman.

I'll still enjoy Michael Jackson's music despite his questionable off field behaviour, some of the most talented people are horribly flawed people.

Gary Ablett Snr is one of Geelong's greatest players but is horribly flawed off field, even Tony Lockett who is a better full forward than him is flawed.
