Still convinced that Werner is Bayern bound

Some people are talking about Mo to Real to fund the Sancho deal, but I don't see Real or Barca paying the 200 mil + to buy him, when they can just pay that for Mbappe
Why would Mo want out though. I don't think we're selling anyone. And losing Mo and replacing him with Sancho is a large downgrade and makes zero sense.

All this January deals feel like forever ago. Cout and Studge etc.

Did forget that VVD came in January though.

I honestly didn't think we would do anything in January but now all you boys have got me excited haha.

Now watch us do absolutely nothing.

Mo may want a massive payday elsewhere while he still has some top level football in him, he can easily get paid 350k elsewhere which would be twice of what we're paying him

I don't think he'll leave at all though

Doesn't seem the money hungry type and I think he does sensationally well with commercial deals. He's due a new contract and pay rise though. He looks to be super happy and right now who would want to leave with everything before us and working under the best manager on the planet.

I don't think he's going anywhere and surely the club wants to keep him for as long as possible.

If someone pays 200 mil for a 28 year old Mo, would you take it though, if you can use that money to buy Havertz and Sancho?

I'd rather he stay though and just put Sancho on the right and Mo upfront, reckon he should spend the latter stages of his career upfront. Plus imagine what Jurg would do if he has 4 top class attacking options, no way he doesn't play all 4 of them in some games

For me... no amount of money is worth it for a top top player. 9 out of 10 times it doesn't work out. Usually you sell Suarez and get Borini, Balotelli and Markovic.

Sure Coutinho got us VVD and Alisson but that was outlier for me, not the norm. How did we go with replacing Torres too. Sterling...

Don't sell top players. So for me, 200 million for Mo is a no. He's in the prime of his career right now and will be for the next 3-4 season. Let's enjoy him!

But if it's Mbappe that replaces Mo?

I love Mo and want him to retire here but is there any scenario we sell one of the front 3 because some idiot bids stupid money?

Mbappe different story. You don't sell Mo for Sancho cos it's a downgrade. But Mbappe is a generational talent. But I think we can buy players without having to sell.

I think Lallana and Lovren will move on. Depends what Milner wants to do. I think the club would definitely offer him another contract. But Milner will know he won't play as much for us than if he dropped down to say a Leeds or someone like that.

I think if we win the league, Milner might be... European Cup, League Title, job done. Move on.

I can see Milner working in coaching role of some sort in the future. He's got that discipline and versatility in him for it. Not sure how desperate he is to play on but he will know, if he is true to himself, that his days at he highest level are numbered. Maybe the club could sweeten his phase out by offering him a coaching role. We have a specialist throw in coach, so who knows. Klopp says he doesn't have to be vocal in the dressing room. Milner and Hendo do that for him.

Mbappe is running down his contract too. Only 18 months left IIRC?

You can't sign Mbappe and leave him on the bench behind the current front three. Salah is the one for who the rumours persist. And right at this moment, he's probably the most expendable (this will change as soon as he returns to form though, which he will).

Sancho you probably could get away with being a squad player for a season behind Salah, Firmino & Mane. Interesting times.

This squad is too thin to compete over a number of competitions. Our main focus is to win the PL and we have a once in a lifetime opportunity to do that this season. Trying to compete over 3 to 4 comps is just flirting with the injury gods (touch wood). Having won the CL last season our priorities should be full strength teams in the PL and WCC and somewhat weakened teams in the other comps.

What if they pay 200 mil for Mo and we use that to buy Mbappe

If Mbappe is available for around the same price as Mo, there's no way Real wouldn't buy him first

It's also worth overpaying for Sancho for a few reasons

1. Brexit, who knows how that'd affect buying foreign players and work permits and the like

2. Home grown, Milner and Lallana will be off soon and we need to fill the quota. So buy the best ones, not pad the squad out with Ryan Fraser

3. He is 19 and already one of the best assisters in Europe, it's nuts

Same reason why City poached Sterling from us, we should absolutely buy Sancho even for 100 mil

Club World Cup on Optus.
