Loved the commentator

"liverpool will go equal with points with City if they draw this"

Errr no we won't unless they somehow stuff up and give us a point but not them
Well to be honest, both teams should lose 3 points for that disgusting performance.

That was one of the worst games I've ever seen Agger play.

Lucas was putrid. Babel insipid. Kuyt laughable. Rodriguez is hopeless.

Gerrard pretty good until half time. Unsighted after that.

Skrtel MOTM and Mascherano did well. Reina did well when called upon.

Torres and Benayoun getting a bit of time on the park was good though. Hopefully they can stay fit in the run in to the end of the season.

Maxi should never be allowed to start a match for us ever again.

Skrtel was our MOTM by far.

I actually thought Babel wasn't too bad considering the shit service he was recieving. He tried to make a few things happen for us unlike most of our other players.

Benny probably should of gone down by that challenge to De Jong but its evened out since Adebayor should of gotten a penalty after that Dagger push.

It really got to the stage where I just laughed every time we turned the ball over after we just passed it around in defence.

Watching us really reminded me of Richmond. Pass the ball around plenty of times in defence and as soon as they try go forward, they turn the ball over.

Pretty good summation.

There's no way Rodrigues should be selected in front of Pacheco for the rest of the season. But of course it won't happen because in Benitez's eyes Maxi is the La Liga legend and Argentine International who has "quality".

Villa have won easily and as I write this Spurs are 1 up at HT. Nothing less than 3 points are needed against Blackburn.

"He has quality, and he is working hard, no?"

Who would've thought the main quality you should look for in someone to play in the wide positions, in a '3' behind the striker is working hard and tracking back.

It's ****ing infuriating.

We should all just rejoice and have a good laugh at the performance we dished up tonight.

It was the worst of the worst. :thumbsu:

And least we can all say we've seen us sink to a new low.

It really is a catch 22 with Aquilani. If you sell him in the summer, you fail to see if this season was the season he needed to settle and he may explode next season. He has the skill, obviously the main issue is his mentality. Also if you sell him in the summer, you won't get half of what we paid for him. Of course if you keep for another season and he displays the ineptitude he has displayed this season, then you wont get a packet of chips for him.

Like I said for what Liverpool got for Alonso, surely Roma could of parted with De Rossi instead for extra cash. Of course that would of meant the USA owners not lining their pockets with the profit. De Rossi has the physical attributes to succeed in the EPL, Aquilani not so much.

Riera, Maxi and Babel should all be gone. I would be happy for all 3 to go to just bring in Mata from Valencia.
I dont think so, you could give Aquilani a full season next year and even if he doesnt get any better, his reputation in Italy would get us about 10 million. Not great but better than nothing. Id keep him for one more season, he is coming back from a horror injury run and is adapting to a tough new league. He shows glimpses but needs to start putting it together.

I want Gerrard and Aqua to switch though, we look soooo much better when Gerrard is deep, he instantly starts running the show.

It was a pretty dire match. The only positives IMO was Torres and Yossi's return. I dont think either will start against Blackburn but they are back and amongst it which is great news, with Gerrard, they are our most creative and attacking players. We might actually score some goals with those two back.

I didnt think Babel was as bad as some said. He wasnt the worst anyways, I though Masch was good, Gerrard good in the first half, faded a bit after that but Skrtel was our MOTM. Should have nicked all three with Yossi goes down, he should have gone down. Looked a cast iron pen had he gone down.

We didnt deserve all three though and neither did City. The run home will be interesting, Villa have roared back into and have a really easy run home. We have a decent run home with only Chelsea and United to contend with. City and Tottenham have tougher runs than us I think.

With Torres back though, I believe we can finish 4th. Yossi too, how far away is GJ?

Well my from my POV, I am quite annoyed that I am sitting here so tired after watching that shit lol Couldn't believe City didn't try to press us more, they played too much like us, sitting back and trying to get the kill on the counter. If they had of pressed more, Adebayor could have taken us apart.

Nearly had a heart attack when he beats Skrtel on the turn and was running in for a one on one. Thank god Martin got his foot to the ball.

At least it was pleasing to see Benny and a certain #9 get some run into their legs... But LOL at Fernando's yellow. Give me a break.

We've now gone the best part of FIVE MONTHS without scoring more than two goals in a league game.

Apparently the last time that happened, was more than FORTY YEARS ago.

It was clear that neither side wanted to lose the game and therefore neither really took any risks. We're not playing great football but once again we are making it very hard to score against us. If we get Torres and Benayoun back to full fitness, there's no reason to think we won't start scoring some goals again.

Skrtel is playing well at the moment and was fantastic last night. Agger I thought defended quite well in terms of his actual defensive play but kept turning the ball over. Having said that, neither side could really hold onto the ball with possession lost way too easily.

The thing is Agger was basically a free agent last night. Skrtel was man marking City's only striker Adebayor, which gave Agger a lot of freedom. But despite little pressure from the opposition, he kept stuffing up simple passes.

I'm getting a bit worried about him. I think its been pretty well established that he's a non-entity in the air and now his ground level play is turning to shite as well. Hopefully last night was just a once off.

His passing and ground level play is usually quite good; he is quite comfortably our best ball-playing central defender (although he is not up against much), but yes, he was careless last night.

I'd like to see him impose himself a little more as well. I actually think that while he's a good player and will hopefully only get better, he is slightly overrated by a lot of Liverpool fans, at least relative to the vitriol dished out to defenders like Carragher and, to a lesser extent, Kyrgiakos.
