Johnson will return to training this or next week:

"I think we have enough quality, Yossi Benayoun is coming back, Fernando Torres is coming back, hopefully Glen Johnson will come back in the next week," said the boss.

"So we are now bringing players back and the competition will be better for us and hopefully we can improve."
His return is a very timely one as we have missed his attacking qualities on the right hand side.

If he can play like he did in his 1st couple of months for us then we should have a lot less problems scoring.

Johnson on his way back is another huge plus for us. With Yossi, Torres and GJ in the side, we are a far more attacking side.

On Agger, he is our best central defender with the ball on the deck. It's funny I think if we combined all our central defenders we could have really awesome one. Carragher's positioning and reading of the game is very good, Agger on the deck is very good, Skrtel is your strong, take no prisoners tackling defender and the Greek is dominant in the air. Combine all 4 and we have a great central defender.

We should have kept Hyypia for one more season as he still is able to perform as he is proving in Germany atm.

He has some of those attributes and can actually score.

Sami is too slow now.

Like, even though he was slow before, his positional sense always made up for it, but watching some of the Leverkusen games...

He's wow slow.

Still he couldn't be any worse than our other central defenders have been this season.

Does anyone know where the gun that is Nabil How Bizarre btw?

I think he has only played one match for us this season.

Gerrard is no more than a good player at the moment.

Lucas makes far too many stupid, costly turnovers for a CM.

Aqualani - Where the **** did he go after being subbed on? Because I didn't see him.

Babel - As the commentators mentioned... He has pace, he has power, he has no ****ing idea how to use either of them in a game of football.

Skrtel was excellent.

Yossi is underrated and makes a huge difference to the team. Very happy to have him and Torres back.

Johnson was playing like shit before he got injured, hope that changes.
It may not be a coincidence that we stopped leaking goals once Johnson got injured. Then again, we've bascally stopped scoring goals as well so its a bit of a catch 22.

Its a bit sad that we even have to debate the merits of a player we shelled out 17m for. You'd think someone with that price tag would be able to get the balance between attack and defence right.

Pompey would probably still be laughing if they were so messed up.

The reason why Liverpool have conceded less with Johnson out, is because Carragher doesn't play as acentral defender. Agger and Skrtel looks like it is a better combination.

He deserves to play for Spain.

Del Bosque is a very good manager and he needs his top line players representing him at all times.

Spain are a worse side without Nando and if he's fit enough to play for Liverpool on the weekend, then he's fit enough to be picked for Spain.

I'd go furthur than that and say Spain wouldn't even have been good enough to qualify for South Africa has Torres not played every single game.

Its good to see Agger and Skrtel playing together at CB since they are more or less going to be our main pairing in a few years time and beyond.

They have only conceeded 6 goals in the 8 games they have started together and 2 of those were against City where Agger left injured after 20mins.

Dagger was very poor with the ball against City but I thought he was pretty good defensively and he won a fair few headers. Him and Skrtel just need to learn how to score from our set pieces.

Carragher has proved he still has a couple of more seasons left in him but after that our defensive future looks alright with Johno, Dagger, Skinhead and Insua.

Carragher has been nothing less than outstanding since he took over at Right back. It's clearly his best position.

LOL...

Torres only played 4 out of Spain's 10 games and didn't score a goal nor had an assist. Spain finished 11 points ahead of 2nd (15 from missing a qualification playoff/spot) and didn't loose 1 game. They sure needed Torres to qualify...

You might be right there. Now why wouldn't Torres be playing every game for Spain? Oh yeah, that's right, he was injured. That is to say, injured WHILE PLAYING FOR SPAIN!!! 3 times in the last 2 years.

For me the main role for Torres when he plays for Spain is to take some of the attention away from Villa (Who I consider the best striker in the world).

You can't keep them both down and because Torres gets so much attention because of his explosive attributes, it allows Villa to go about his business more comfortably.
