For me the main role for Torres when he plays for Spain is to take some of the attention away from Villa (Who I consider the best striker in the world).

You can't keep them both down and because Torres gets so much attention because of his explosive attributes, it allows Villa to go about his business more comfortably.
Wow, I've reported your post. Enjoy your ban.

You might be right there. Now why wouldn't Torres be playing every game for Spain? Oh yeah, that's right, he was injured. That is to say, injured WHILE PLAYING FOR SPAIN!!! 3 times in the last 2 years.
Your point? Don't see how that helps your statement...

1-2 at half time.

Goals from Babel and a screamer from Masch.

They need 3 goals now so we should be through even though we havn't really played all that well.

We did enough, great strike from Masch. He has improved his shooting and passing over the last 12 months. And boy does he know how to celebrate them. Disappointed not to see Torres but we were comfortable and the pitch was horrible, also disappointing to see Skrtel go down injured, looks like a broken toe and he could miss a couple of months which doesnt help. Luckily the Greek the awesome and Johnson is almost back.

Babel played well I thought, ridiculous control for his goal, seems somebody gave him a heart transplant. Let's hope he keeps playing like that so we can ramp up the price we sell him for at the end of the season.

Lille next in the Europa League. We really should win this competition.

Wasn't that great a game but good to get some goals on the board, the first two were taken extremely well. Set piece defending in the first half was shambolic, can't afford such lapses against a team like Blackburn this weekend.

I think Mascherano's been really good for us the last couple of months. He seems to be playing with a passion again, whereas for a while there he looked like he was sulking about not being sold to Barcelona.

Mascherano has probably been Liverpool's best player this season, espeically the last couple of months. Hopefully he has gotten over his desire to move to Barca.

Its good to finally see us score moer than 2 goals in a game.:thumbsu:

Nice to see Babel being given chances and him doing something to justify it. He should be given a decent run in the team.

I have a good feeling about the rest of the season. With our run home, we should finish fourth.

Well Skrtel has a confirmed broken metatarsal so he will be out for a long time.

I am pretty sure Kyrgiakos is still suspended for the Blackburn game so I think we might be seeing Kelly at RB and Carra back in the middle next to Agger.

Finally Johnson has finally resumed training with the team but this fixture is too soon for him to take part in.

Would like to see Kelly satart at RB. Given his lack of match fitness though, running out the game might be an issue. Does pose some throwing around of the whiteboard names though , especially with Kyrgiakos out. Given Degen didn't feature in either leg aginst Unirea I doubt we will see him. Maybe 15-20 mins of Masch at RB, Aquilani in CM?

Have scoured the Fox EPG and their website. Looks like the game is not on. That is so gay. I haven't seen alot of our games live (always record them & watch before I have checked scores so it seems live!) this season due to the large number of Sunday nite/Monday morning games we have played. With a public holiday in WA this week, was hoping to watch.
**** You Foxtel.

Next three games, Blackburn (h), Wigan (a) and Portsmouth (h) are eminently winnable and it is vital to win all three, especially given that the other sides could easily drop points over the same period.

Blackburn at home should be a win, I hope Nando doesn't start though and I would love to see Kelly at RB.
Well yes, it should be a win, but having watched a replay of the Unirea game yesterday It seems like our vulnerability to corners/set pieces has returned. It was horrific. We really could've used the Greek for Blackburn. (Never thought I'd say that).

Remember our earlier game against Blackburn? BOMBS AWAAAAAYYY!!
Typical Allardyce shite. I don't mind the idea of Masch as an emergency RB but I think we have to go with an underdone Kelly as he'll give us another 'tall' in our defence. I think he's been groomed as more of a CB than a RB anyway. Darby (remember him?) is another option.

Come on Benitez, we MUST get 3 points. Please play 2 strikers.

Pepe
Kelly Carra Agger Inusa
Benny Gerrard Masch Babel
Kuyt Torres

I think Aquaman will start tommorow since this game is at Anfield.

He has generally started ahead of Lucas in our last few league home games.
