What's he meant to do? All of a sudden understand how to play on the right side of midfield, despite playing precisely zero amount of youth/youth international football there?...

Play him in his preferred ****ing position and he'll make an impact.
Sorry mate, but if you're good enough, you will make some kind of impact, even out of position. But every time Pacheco takes the step up to the first team he has utterly failed to impress. I like the kid but he has to make more of an impact when he gets his chance.

So if we played Torres at left back, you'd expect him to have a good game?

Yes, because has the ability to dribble and take on a man and cross the ball.

Beating a man and crossing is not Dani's go at all.

Dani is known for his close ball control, he likes to drop off the front man and pick up the ball and link with the striker - he likes to pass and move.

He's not a winger by any stretch of the imagination.

Agreed but he should still be able to link up with midfield, pass and move, get into space. But he just kinda did nothing, like he always seems to do nothing when in the first team. Dont get me wrong, I love the bloke and would like to see him given more chances, particularly off Torres where he can profit from how good Nando is. But he just doesnt seem to get involved enough in games.

Overall, not a bad result, considering it's a trip to eastern europe and we made 10 changes from the weekend. 1-1 is enough to get through to the knock out round which is good with a game to spare against Napoli at home. That should give us another good chance, particularly in front of our own fans to throw in some of the youngsters.

Wilson was ok but was hoofing it a little too much. Shelvey was solid in central midfield, Pacheco made no real impact though. Babel and Aurelio were pretty good and want to see them more involved in first team duties.

Ashley Young is suspended and will miss Villa's match with Liverpool on Monday night.

Johnson and Konchesky must be breathing a sigh of relief, especially after the way Lennon got Tottenham's late winner last week.

So you have one of the brightest talents in world football in Pacheco, and you decide to play him out of position for the two games he played. Then blamed the loss in the League Cup on the youngsters, and play them again now... out of position.

Happy with a draw, could be worse, not that we were in danger of not qualifying anyway, so this was just a glorified run out for blokes like Cole.

A player the quality of Joe Cole is wasted on Woy, wouldn't know how to use someone who doesn't hoof and get stuck in like them Paul Konchesky. I wouldn't blame him if he does horrible for us, coz he doesn't have a manager that can appreciate him

jod, you are an absolute clown. You can't expect a kid who's spent all his formative youth years as a striker in Spain to contribute anything while the ****wit manager plays him so ludicrously out of position.

Babel is our best player right now. As bad as that is.

Well according to some he is one of the brightest talents in world football!!! Surely a kid so amazingly talented can have some sort of impact in that match last night.

I think you're all so hurt because im not wanking over Dani P. Dont get me wrong, I really like the kid and think he is talented and would love to see him play more often. But everytime he has being given a run out, in his favoured position or not, he has failed to impress. But hopefully Woy will keep giving him chances to impress.

Anyone who taped last night's game and is planning to watch a replay, don't bother. Tedious viewing.

Woy obviously intructed the team to play ultra-defensive and hoof the ball away at every opportunity. Still we got the result we want. Qualified to the next stage with a game to spare.

Chance to play more kids/fringe dwellers for the final game against Utrect. Hopefully it will mean Woy will allow us to attack more (but don't hold your breath), so that a player such as Pacheco (who was very unimpressive last night) will be more involved.

Yeah but will Albrighton be back from injury? He's only young, but still more than good enough to pull down the shorts of Konch/Johnno.

Danny Wilson and Martin Kelly are two very, very good players. I know it's just agasint some average Europa team, but i know i'd be one happy man to see a centre back partnership between those two in a few years.

On the Pacheco note, to be honest i don't think he'll make it in a Liverpool jersey for many different reasons, but i think he'll still be a fine player which is what makes me angry/

Babel at striker  actually looked interested and wanted the ball. Interesting to see if he goes in January or if RH keeps him.

I still want Maxi/Jova/Poulsen all sold in January.

Anyone know anything about some Rennes winger, Marveaux (Spelling) being linked to us for a cheaper fee as he is free next summer?

What about Kelly at right back, with Agger and Wilson as a center back partnership. That could be tasty, we wont ever see it though.

Babel's first season with us was very good and yet since then he has been either given **** all oppurtunites or he has been shunted to the left wing. Babel needs to play on the right ahead of Maxi or behind Torres instead of shit Joe Cole.

Danny Wilson is very, very promising, but he seriously gives it the hoof Carra-style. Unless he has some decent coaches/manager around him that teaches him to work it out the defense the right way, he'd just be stuck in this horrible English way and it'd be unfair for him

Babel would be a more regular starter if he isn't a lazy, crazy ****. Like yesterday's game, great the first 30 mins, after that, he just strolled around like he's taking a walk in the park with his dog. Great talent, shitehouse mentality
