Now which one of you was ribbing me for saying he should have been sacked? Are there adequate replacements lined up now?
People were giving it to you for saying he should've been sacked without any better replacements available. If we sack him and hire a Martinez then we're gonna be the new Villa

The first thing the new coach should do is sell Gerrard and tell Carragher to retire.

We cant have them ruining the dressing room and getting the coach sacked again.

Carrgher to retire yes but it's time to move Stevie to the bench.

A) We won't get much for him if we did sell him as he is past is best and too injury prone
B) He was loyal to us when he could have chased money and titles and we can at least let him finish as a one club player which is rare in today's game

Posted this in the Dalglish thread but i'll post it here as well.

Well for one I don't think we'll be making Champions League next season even if we brought Bill Shankly or Paisley back from the dead to take the job.

Owners need to think long-term. That's why I wouldn't mind an appointment like AVB. High risk, yes, but needs to be given the all too precious commodity of time. We need to be realistic about where we stand in English and World football at the moment, which is not top four. And we can't go sacking managers if we finish 6th or 7th or 8th. This managerial merry-go-round of the last 18 months is doing more harm than good.

Owners need to have a long-term vision and trust in it. Concentrate on getting back to where we should be.

Rafa is an interesting one. Part of me feels we need a completely fresh start. Wipe the slate completely clean. There are still players here, that if you believe the press, ruined the dressing room and basically got him the sack. So in that sense, probably not a good move. However, he's already done so much with the Academy and getting Segura and Borrell in that it does feel like it makes a lot of sense.

And if we hire Martinez, the yanks can go **** themselves.

Your insanity knows no bounds. Carragher is still more than handy squad player as a back up defender who can play anywhere across the back 4.

Gerrard is still one of our best and most influential players???

Yep and apparently the Hillsborough families are upset it was moved from the front of the jumper from the crest to the back

Think they are being a bit too precious there, they are still getting honoured on the jumper and it's not like they were bumped all together

I'm open to the idea of AVB, as long as Carra is ****ed off coz them foreigners are in charge of the club again and his wife doesn't like talking to other wives who don't speak English

Martinez on the other hand is not welcomed
