Martinez is the perfect fit because your squad is the perfect fit for the 3-4-3 formation

You have a overload at CB and can easily play 3 across there. You have 2 geniune wingback options in Johnson and Enrique who can do the business and while your a player or two short in the front 3 its something that can be worked upon in the summer. It would finally give Henderson a chance to play his normal role and give him a chance to succeed. It would mean the end of Charlie Adam who just isnt suited for that formation as well as Downing which can only be good. Itd suit Suarez to a tee. It would allow you to play 3 CBs across the back which you have the depth to do it would allow you to make two superstar signing as opposed to 4 or 5 stopgap ones. Under Martinez you could easily play

Reina
Skrtel Agger Coates
Johnson Henderson Lucas Enrique
Gerrard Suarez ???

With the focus fully focused on signing 2 goal scoring wide players in the Hoilett/Moses/Dempsey mould. If you were picking a coach to match the squad then Martinez is the man

Apparently rumours on Twitter are AVB will sign 5 year deal tomorrow with £40m to spend and that Louis Van Gaal has been approached to be the new Director of Football

Like the look of Luuk De Jong up front. Our other transfer targets should be quality cover for Lucas (Spearing not up to it) and a goal scoring winger.
Depends on the new manager and the tactics he will use.
De Jong has tremendous talent.
For me we need another striker who can finish, a CB, attacking mf and please 2 wingers who can cross........

Van Gaal will piss off everyone at the club, but as a director if he can sign some good players then no one would care for the time being

Last summer really really hurt, to waste so much cash on rubbish. It was the summer we couldn't afford to **** up and we did, now we're in a mess

Bring back Danny Wilson from loan and promote Andre Wisdom from the academy

Retire Carragher

Problems solved with the CB
With Agger, Skrtel, Coates & Kelly we are well and truly covered for CB'S. I can't imagine why anyone would think we would need reinforcements in central defense.

Louis Van Gaal would make things intersting.

Agger can play LB, Coates im not sold on yet, Kelly is more right back.
Skrtel is a beast but one more CB would be great.

Im more worried bout our creativity and finishing.
We need wingers who can cross, and striker who can finish.

Kuyt said he was off if Kenny stayed. Now Kenny is out which means Kuyt might stay on.

As for CB? No need, Skrtel, Agger, Coates, Carragher, Kelly can all play in the center of defence. Wisdom is a good kid coming through too, Wilson can also play centrally.

We need goals. Goal scoring midfielders, attacking, create midfielders, wingers, and an out and out striker.

Oh and Kelly got a call up to the England squad. Well deserved. A lot of people will whinge because he was called up instead of Richards but Kelly is super impressive.

Reina, Enrique, Agger, Skrtel, Johnson, Kelly, Coates, Carragher, Lucas, Henderson, Gerrard, Suarez, Carroll.

These are the senior players that we need to build on IMO. I wouldn't be too fussed if anyone outside the above list of players was to go. Henderson is included as he is still young and developing. Wouldn't mind if Carra left but it's not going to happen and he could still provide some useful depth and experience for another season.

Richards wasnt available.

Otherwise the decision would have been as stupid as the decision to leave him out of the squad in the first place.

As far as Kelly goes, selecting anyone that is yet to establish himself in a mid table team is a sign of just how low England have sunk.

He's fairly established. A fair few people rate him higher than Johnson. It's just he has to get past the best RB in the country bar Richards to play regularly.

Or you could actually watch Kelly play and see that he is a terrific talent.

lolwut?

Richards wasn't selected for England under Capello... or Hodgson

Terrific talents are a dime a dozen.
To be fair, Kelly is quite decent from what I have seen.

actually selecting kids in friendlies is kinda, you know, normal. especially when that kid is very very decent.
