In general this side has been absolutely found out without Sadio Mane in the team. We haven't put in a good performance since Man City at home, which was 6 games ago now. Title chances have well and truly slipped away at this point, that'll become all too clear when Chelsea wallop us this coming matchday. Best we can hope for is to stay in the top four, and to try to win a domestic cup. Southampton game in a few days is absolutely crucial now.

5. Firmino
4. Lallana
3. Milner

That is all.

Clyne had so many pointless possessions tonight. Got the ball on so many occasions with a heap of space and did nothing with it.

I'm fine with Klavan playing the odd game, but he can't start every week it seems, he cannot deal with long balls, and too slow when ran at. He needs protection in front of him and in these games he won't get much

Chelsea, Spurs, Arsenal - 3 of our next 5.
Only positive is they are all at HOME and if we regain some form we will take points off teams we are competing with for a top 3 spot.
Oh and Leicester city away.

Genuinely disappointing, I thought we're through this sorta shit

We need to do better in centre backs if we wanna win the league, even Lovren isnt good enough consistently for a top side.

Same old shitty problem - it's our midfielders that can't defend, Henderson, Milner, Clyne and Can just can't block or intercept the ball off opposition.

Agreed. I think we've settled for mediocrity in too many spots in our team, both in the starting eleven and our depth.

I'm gonna keep going on like a broken record about Emre Can, but he is rubbish defensively, slow on the turn, can't pass, and rarely scores. So why is he here?

Careful, you might upset someone.

There have been enough games before today where the evidence shows that the trio of Henderson-Can-Wijnaldum simply doesn't work. Not enough creativity, not enough defensive cover. If Henderson is struggling with injury, don't play him. His passing was deplorable. Either Lallana or Coutinho MUST start the next game in midfield.

Just pathetic today. Completely sterile 1st half, completely brainless 2nd half. Firmino was great, Lallana had a busy 2nd half. The rest of them were embarrassing.

Unless we snap back to form in a hurry, and we'll have to bearing in mind our upcoming fixtures, 6th place is looking likely.

I remember saying Klavan was a good 4th CB signing. With Sakho as 3rd putting pressure on Lovren.

Matip had his injuries/AFCON problems and Sakho is gone and we have had to deal with our CBs being Lovren, Klavan, Lucas. Not good enough.

Maybe a front 6 of
Coutinho-Firmino-Sturridge
Wijnaldum-Henderson-Lallana
With Matip back instead of Klavan.
Agree apart from Sturridge. He'll crack the sads if he isn't central and in any case his current form is horrible. I'd go with Origi wide, at least he has some pace.

All the defenders are on notice

Been saying it since the start of the season but you can't continue to concede 50+ goals a season and aspire to be a top side

Liverpool, Dortmund,
Furious after that! Lethargic, clumsy and ineffective performance.
I love you Jurgen but you should have left Coutinho on mate. And please get a CB like Tah or VVD asap. This defensive performance could happen again if something isn't done.
