Lovren has one of these games where he still costs us every now and again, need someone else to partner Matip
I like Lovren... as a 3rd CB. He cost us this game with poor defending. Matip is in dire need of a better partner.

I also like Clyne but he's kinda useless going forward. Defends well enough though I guess.

That result though is a real kick in the dick though.

Top four was starting to look good, then we lose at home to Palace.

I'll be so gutted if we dont finish top four. I just think it sets us back under Klopp. We need CL to get our first choice targets. Plus im sick of not being in the ******* champions league.

Really need City to beat United in the manc derby.

Injuries are killing us though. We're dire without Mane. Need Lallana and Henderson back too. Sturridge could have been handy today as well.

The squad is paper thin though.

I know those four were injured and if they werent we would have a much stronger bench. Can throw Ings in there too.

But Karius, Gomez, Moreno, Brewster, TAA, Woodburn and Grujic.

Too young. Nobody there is going to come on and change a game.

Ugh... what a shit day of sport.

I feel there is a lack of identity. What are LFC? Historically a big club. Trophies are there, Anfield is a cool place to play. But what the **** has happened?
- Are our expectations too high? Should they be re-evaluated?
- Do players switch off against "smaller clubs", and if so why? Maybe they need to be reprogrammed to believe they/the club are one of these clubs?
- Are we a europa cup playing team at best? Is that something to be proud of?
- Are we a buying and selling club (that seemed to seep in during the rodgers era)
- Who are players we target? Young English players? Or reach for the stars and get worldies?

These are questions the hierarchy need to answer.

I knew Coutinho would score that free kick the sec he won it. Very similar position to the one he scored on the opening day vs Arsenal.

Benteke once again comes to haunt us!!! who would've thunk it!

in the bad old days of richmond tigers i used to predict which dud small forward would kick a bag against us. it's kinda like that. but not really.

cannt believe this squad is still sitting 3rd. its such a shite squad, credit to klopp
on one hand you have a point. we should be happy with that. but on the other, we should be further entrenched.

identity crisis. we don't know what we should be

People referring to the fact we didn't bring in any players in January sh*ts me to tears. Maybe it's because of FIFA and FM but some seem to think that there's a queue formed out the front of Melwood every January with world class players begging to be signed. That's the first game Lovren and Matip have lost when they've been paired together in defense, out of 12 games (I think) that's a decent record. I really hope we don't chase Van Dijk, but it screams of a typical Liverpool purchase, you have a very good year and are worth 30-40 mil and we're like "where do we sign".

Can is still frustrating the hell out of me, was absolutely woeful (wasn't alone though) and to be honest if we can scrape through to top 4 with the squad we have at present that will be some achievement.
Clyne gets through a huge amount of work, is good defensively and gets into fantastic positions offensively but his final ball (if he isn't tackled prior to a cross) needs some serious work.
Firmino has come a long way imo in regards to his physicality, when he use to get pushed off the ball easy he now has the strength at physicality to ride one or two challenges and keep going.
