Worth noting Chelsea and Arsenal lost to this Palace outfit. Allardyce's teams post February just go god mode and Benteke always did have a knack against us.

I think we should and will win our remaining games. Three safe mid table teams in no notable form and a likely relegated Boro on the last day.

I wonder what percentage of posts in this here thread are positive :$

I really hope we have a good psychologist at Melwood because this whole set piece defending is turning into typical self-efficacy behaviour.

I know Arsenal are probably the gold medal standard (understandable too) in frustrated fans but we have to be right up there. Even before Palace went a goal up you could tell the crowd had changed. I know first hand through Victory that TV can totally distort an atmosphere but we, as fans, don't seem to be creating a good atmosphere lately.

Maybe it stems from the "here we go again" type of thinking when we cop a goal but to me the Liverpool way has always been that we're never out of it. So many examples (some recent, some not) of us defying the odds but that belief seems to be weakening by the month. I know a lot of people on here don't subscribe to the "12th man" theory but I believe it can become contagious.

Dude, this thread is positive compare to other LFC forums, loads of them are calling for Jurg to get the chop
Really?? Jesus, glad I haven't gone looking for other forums then. It's hard but if you can take a step back and take the emotion out of it, our squad is no better than were our ladder position has us. At full strength I think we could be close to a league winning team but you're never going to keep a full strength squad for a full season.

If people honestly believe that we would be in a better position with a different manager and the same squad then i would love to hear that argument.

That hurts our chances and opens the door very widely for United to slip through. Arsenal arent totally out of it yet either.

If Mane hadnt been injured, we would have coasted into 3rd.

It's a massive end to the season. I feel if we fail to make top four it's just a gigantic waste of a season and sets our progression back hugely. We have to be able to offer incoming targets CL football.

Does anyone know the highest points total to miss top 4? We're still capable of 78. Surely the ute run ends at some stage
72 at a quick glance, Everton in 13/14 and Spurs in 12/13

Arsenal finished fourth 13/14 with 79 points. So 78 would have seen a team miss top 4 that year.

This guy reckons if we win 3 then we're more than likely to make the 4.

I have an unusual optimistic feeling we'll take all 12 points.

We wouldn't be in the top 4 with this squad without Jurg

But geez please get the set piece defending right
7 goals conceded from corners this season. Having the likes of Mane, Lallana, Hendo available obviously makes us a better team but it still doesn't sort out the issues in defence. Lovren pulls out half a dozen shockers every season so I wasn't totally surprised he did it again today.

Lovren needs to be replaced. He's had a good run for us. He needs to be third choice.

At least before we play again, we will have a better look at where we sit as there are a few mid week catch up games.
