Going back to Salah, the guy's scored 43 in 108 in the Serie A and has more assists, even if it's the Serie A, it's hard to argue with those numbers

Balotelli's record all up was 46 out of 102 in the Serie A before we bought him....

From the James Pearce interview on Red Men TV. A lot of what he said is common knowledge but I'll post it anyway. Despite being the most trusted ITK, as usual take what is said with a grain of salt:

  • No matter what happens with Sturridge, Liverpool would be crazy to not go and get a top class striker
  • From what he has heard, Timo Werner is not one of the main targets and he has barely heard anything on him.
  • If Sessegnon signs, he will come in as Milner's understudy and how quickly he settles will determine how much game time he sees.
  • He says our position with Sessegnon has been strengthened by Fulham not being promoted although the potential stumbling block is not being able to guarantee first team games straight away
  • The Andy Robertson talk is mainly agent talk although he says there is a little bit of truth to the rumour.
  • He also says if we end up going after Robertson then it means we have missed out on 2 or 3 left back options.
  • At this stage we are only looking to bring in 1 left back unless Milner leaves
  • On Sturridge he says there are a number of factors from both Sturridge and Klopp as to whether he stays.
  • Nothing has been decided on Lucas yet.
  • Can't see Stewart, Wisdom, Sakho, Markovic, and Moreno being at the club next season (we already knew that anyway).
  • Says Moreno's stock seems to still be high in Spain so he will probably end up back there.
  • Klopp really like Grujic. He is seen as a long term prospect so there is no chance of him leaving.
  • Says there is zero talk of Liverpool looking for a new keeper (It was filmed before the Casillas rumours)

Can't really argue with his numbers though, his goals and assists per game ratio is insane

Keita is clearly the biggest talent out of the bunch we're going after, with talks of Bayern going for Goretzka instead it could be looking alright for us

Keita has Klopp player written all over him. Can easily see how he'd fit in to our current set up and style of playing.

Pretty obvious observations.
The biggest query for me is the striker situation. Klopp could easily be happy with stud, origi and ings. IMO would be a mistake

Ings needed a loan last year. He needs a loan this year.
Agree, even if it's only a 6 month loan he needs to get some serious minutes into himl. Would have been the perfect type of bench player when we came up against teams that parked the bus against us.

How have United had a more successful season? Your crazy if you think that

2 trophies. You can say they were less successful because they finished outside the top 4 but they go straight into the Champions League group stage while we have to qualify. You are crazy to think we have had a more successful season. Success is measured in trophies and they won 2 while we won 0.

A work colleague said "gee it would be good for United to win Europa after the tragedy in Manchester".
Not really thinking I said "No it wouldn't".

Anyways, I'm glad we're not bringing in another keeper. Karius should be our number 1 in the cup comps, obviously not for CL but everything else.

I guess it depends how you measure success, Man utd last summer alone paid around $300 million and received $12 million. This also disregards the amount they have spent in the last few seasons for how little received. The result of this spending has been a Europa league trophy. You surely cannot see this as a successful season. Liverpool when Klopp took over had a debt of around $500 million and are now making a profit. Last summer we spent around $120 million but we also received the same amount on selling players. Other champions league qualifying teams are average at best with the best team we have a chance of playing is Hoffenheim. We are pretty much at the same position of unit having made a profit. A Europa league trophy isn't even worth celebrating for the $$ man utd have spent. Anything less than top4 and top 16 in champions league is a terrible season for utd.

hell yeah, what does the Net Spend Trophy look like? If you don't measure success by actual trophies then you've got rocks in your head. Maybe if they just won the league cup, but they won a major European trophy and any benefit of a top 4 finish comes with that.

You measure success by trophies that actually matter. In 2005 Carlton won the wizard home loans trophy. Then they finished last in the premiership season. So you would say that means they had a more successful season than the eagles, who made the grand final but ended the season with 0 trophies ???
