Bild reporting that they want €10M-€15M (£8.9M-£13.3M) to do the deal now.

http://metro.co.uk/2017/12/14/liverpool-set-pay-higher-price-sign-naby-keita-rb-leipzig-7159531/

"Should RB Leipzig miss out on a place in Europe, which is outside the top six, Liverpool would pay €65m (£57.2m). If Keita helps guide his side to a Europa League spot, Liverpool will pay €70m (£61.6m). While if RB Leipzig finish in the top four to keep their place in the Champions League, Liverpool’s spend will rise to €75m (£66m)."

Leipzig are currently 5th, level on points with 3rd placed Dortmund. Odds are that with those very achieveable add ons we'll be paying them another £7-11m in the summer anyway. I'm all for getting it done now. He'd be hugely helpful for our chances of qualifying for the CL again, and of winning the FA Cup. What value do you place on that?
Its a no brainer.

There's also risks associated with getting injured playing for another club and also flirting with form. If the asking price is under 15m, then I say pay it and get him in the tent as quickly as possible.

Is the excess on top of the non UCL fee?

From what I saw in the other thread, ADL is saying that RB Leipzig are OK with letting him go if they get paid the money as if they finished in the UCL - the highest amount they would get anyway. They wouldn't then re-invest the money and come back with cap in hand to Liverpool should they finish in the UCL anyway. That doesn't make sense. This would mean they don't have to pay his wages (he apparently isn't in great form anyway), and could buy someone or somethree else to continue their progress.

It looks like it makes sense for everyone, but I still suspect Klopp may have a desire to prove they don't need him yet. If we lose to City I think they action it. If they win, they may keep negotiating with Leipzig. And of course the obvious option is something they can use to play against another team like Monaco. "100M? No chance. We can grab Keita instead."

Tx mate. So essentially the UCL not the UCL fee + which is why I meant in my weird way haha

I’d be comfortable with that if it’s in the vicinity. Leaves plenty still to play with.

Aguero is up there with Shearer and Henry for the greatest striker to play in the Prem era. Suarez was incredible but Aguero is closer to a goal every 90 minutes than any player and he has been doing it for years and years now. An outstanding player.
While all that is true. Suarez is a better footballer. Can just do more. Plus his scoring rates probably blow Aguero's away after his time at Barcelona now too.

Aguero is class but a step below Suarez. Suarez for a time there threatened the Messi/CR7 1-2 combo.

Just watching that. I'm liking Ox more and more. I feel he has leadership in him. When they all came out of the dressing room and lined up before heading out. He came out last then went the front and gave each player a handshake and a bit of a hug or a bit of encouragement. He went right down the line. Then as last out, he just reached up and touched the sign. That shows he understands what it means, understands the clubs values and traditions.

Then the leadership he showed two weeks ago with Coutinho when he fielded questions for him.

He just seems like a leader.

Done then. Keita will be our key player for years to come, get him here quickly as possible. Coutinho paid for it after all.
He's vastly different to Coutinho. We need a replacement player for Cout. Someone who very much plays like Coutinho. A like for like.

Lemar is very similar. I dont think we will be replacing Cout in January though.

Suarez is my favourite ever player but this is just not true.
Without doubt true. 2015/16 is when he truly shone and took it right to both of them. In 53 games in all comps that season Suarez plunders 59 goals while im pretty sure he led La Liga in Assists too, or way maybe second. Compare that to Messi's 41 in 49 and Ronaldo's 51 in 48 for the same time period.

He's the only guy to win the European Golden Shoe no named Messi or Ronaldo since 09/10. Oh and he's done it twice.

Blokes a freak. Did he reach their level, briefly yes, which for me makes him easily a step on Aguero. It's all the other things he does though, the intangibles, his desire, work rate, his skills, his mongrel, his will to win, his ironman body, his capacity to do the amazing, to score any kind of goal. He has it all.

I still miss Suarez, God we were good with him in our team. Impossible to play against he was. Sturridge was never better than as his wingman.

I agree he is no Coutinho, more like Gerrard. What I am saying though, is he is integral to where we are going and the sooner he is assimilated into our game play the better.

We have to be careful in replacing Coutinho. Whilst we would like someone now, we don't want to get the wrong player or massively over pay, and defintley not both. Don't know enough about Lemar but reports seem positive.

I think we can still make top four with Lallana, AOC etc filling the Coutinho hole.
