On Gomez, he's getting beaten in jobs that are typically jobs for full backs. Perhaps the solution is merely that Gomez is a CB playing out of position.

We kept the most important Brazilian.

Funny how Mane's touch has been generally poor for the last six weeks or so... and his last two goals have been absolutely world class.

We just need to keep working now. All of our competition for 2nd have Man City still to play in the league. My goals are 2nd in the league, FA Cup and lets see what we can get from the Champions League without Cout. Certainly we should get past Porto.

Karius isn't the solution, I don't think a run of games will prove that. Beaten at near post first goal
In his defence that thing was a ****ing rocket from close range at a difficult height and the cross was still very much on as well so it is not like he could just cover the near post. It was a bloody good goal

What a win. You can just about book a win when ever Man City travel to merseyside. They just hate playing at Anfield.

Still an incredible performance with 4 top drawer goals. Still trying to pick a favourite from the 4. :D

Won't mean jack shit though if we don't back it up against Swansea though, we always seem to have a let down after a big effort like that.

Near post is near post. Height was saveable and he shouldnt be letting those in.

A bit of a break between games should hopefully work against a let down.

Klopp has an excellent track record for spotting talent. He saw something in Karius. It seems to me Karius needs confidence and with Klopp's backing(which now it seem's he's got) he can go out and back whatever ability Klopp saw in him.
For me the jury is out, but just give the guy a decent chance and if it doesn't work out then so be it. I don't think Klopp will risk jeopardising our PL & CL campaign if he didn't believe Karius could cope. But it is not an ideal situation for a team aspiring to finish top 4 and advancing in the CL.
Notwithstanding all of this it will be interesting to see what superior keepers are realistically available in the next window.

Wow. What a game. EAD Pep you f****** arse clown. Stick your invincibles up your arse.

Nobody had a bad game and you could justifiably give MOTM to 5 or 6 different players but for me it has to go to Gini. He was absolutely immense. He was breaking up City attacks, intercepting the ball, and setting up attacks for our front 3. That was one of/if not his best performance in a Liverpool shirt.

People are going to give Karius stick because he was beaten on the near post but that shot was near unstoppable. There is such thing as a ball hit hard and fast enough to go past a keeper before they can react.

That rat faced campaigner Gary Neville can f*** off as well. Why they had him commentating Liverpool v City I'll never know. He is the last person who should have been commentating. Going on about every mistake we made for 5 minutes and barely praising the good outside of the goal. F******* moron.

Oblak is our no 1 target accord to Ben smith.
Also lemar or pulisic
Could see our owners being high on getting Pulisic to the club as he's American. Would expect him to be the face of Liverpool in the US in a marketing campaign.

SM Gone from playing like 3 games in the first half of the season to IMO cementing his spot in the side. Outstanding performance from Robbo.

The effort here as well was terrific.
Really enjoyed this Alberto Moreno impression from Robbo.

Pulisic is a ManUre fan; I find that very hard to get past personally.

Probably feeling the hot breath of Keita on his back. But you are right, top game from him.

We had a number of excellent performances tonight but for me Emre’s and Gini’s games were the standouts. The ran and pressed like they were men possessed and kept possession when needed. It would be a crying shame if we lose Emre in the summer.

First thing for me is that Karius isn't someone worth persisting with if he doesn't really show it in the remaining games of the season. It's too valuable a position that we've suffered in long enough to continue persisting with average players in.

Second I reckon 'availability' is the most meaningless word in regards to transfers. There's very few 'available' players going into a window and generally players are contracted - you've gotta make your targets available by expressing interesting and creating uncertainty in their future.
