Barca doesn't give a shit about us. They have to replace a superstar and Coutinho unequivocally wants them. But the point is there's literally no reason for them to wait a year if they can get him now.
And if they can't get him now? Why would they not come back for him in a years time?

Apparently Barca are taking the "it's now or never" approach with Cout. If they really wanted him they should come back for him in a years time.
Remember they're doing it "respectfully".

Poor timing from Coutinho anyway, especially on the eve of the season. Pretty sure most Liverpool fans, staff and players know he wants to play there eventually and that in all likelihood that's what'll eventuate. FSG/Klopp probably won't budge so late in the window, so this achieves the sum total of **** all for him or the club, aside from throwing another can of petrol on the fire.

Not an ideal situation but business as usual as far as I'm concerned. Suarez did the same thing and we held firm and kept him for another year and he was more temperamental than Coutinho. Sorry count too late to get a replacement let's revisit next year

So angry and annoyed this has happened now. If he wanted to go so bad he should have said something a month ago. Not send a email today, weak move Coutinho, very weak move.

Worst possible start to the PL campaign if we let him leave, it would honestly destroy our season.

Horrible timing. Would be devastated if we sell this late with no real replacements lined up. He signed a 5 year deal 6 months ago. Make him honour at least the next 12 months and go from there.

This could really derail our season. Especially with Lallana our for a few months

We hold all the cards, take a leaf outta the Keita saga, stand our ground and stop being beta

A transfer request means absolutely **** all if the club still isn't gonna sell
You just know that won't happen though. We're going to fold like origami paper and then not buy anyone to replace him.

Then the next transfer window, FSG will look at us all and say, "Huh? What money?"

Jurg who's had his Dortmund team gutted by Bayern in the past should know everything about the importance of not selling. He was forced to lose the likes of Gotze and Lewandowski but Coutinho has no release clause and has a 5 year contract

The only situation we'd sell is if we buy Keita, that ain't happening, so if Jurg gets his way then nothing happens

IF we end up losing him without replacing him FSG can **** right off with him and there will be riots on the streets of Anfield to go with it.
