None of the 7 goals Alisson conceded were his fault

3 of the past 4 goals Karius conceded had him throwing the ball at Benzema, parry a Bale shot in the net, and now spilling a simple catch in a friendly against Tranmere

There's just no more defending of that kind of streak. I really feel for the bloke, he looks broken to me, but that's why it's even more important that we take him outta the firing line, you know what happens every game with the opposition supporters when he's in goal, he'll get mocked endlessly

No. If it is not Karius and we don't bring in a new keeper then it is Ward.
If Ward was our saviour, he would be in goal by now. I dont think he is the answer either. We just need to splash the cash on a new GK.

If we had a behemoth in goal, intimidating, saves everything, sure or himself, commanding. That would almost complete the squad to really contend on all levels.

At least certainly our first XI. Then just a sprinkle of depth.

I can't see LFC allocating money for a new keeper who would cost tens of millions of pounds if we are still chasing Fekir or someone similar. It's either one or the other. I'd reckon Klopp would have agonized over our whole goalkeeping situation over the past few weeks and despite the brave face he presented in the interview after today's match, he will be spewing about that Karius blunder and the implications for the team moving forward.
Ward can't all of a sudden be considered the No. 1 choice surely, when he was No. 3 last year.
The stick Karius got from Tranmere supporters and players will be child's play compared to what he'll face in the Premier League if Klopp perseveres with him and he won't cope with that.

What if that player doesn't exist? Donnarumma looks huge, but he also looks slow and his best 10 saves on Youtube don't fill me with confidence that he's a great keeper. Alisson is the best available and doesn't seem that awesome from the little I saw in the World Cup. Certainly pretty good, but not the intimidating player you're describing. Courtois is apparently a target for some, but both he and DDG haven't looked as sharp as usual recently. Schmeichel looks the part, but is actually older than Mignolet.

It might explain the huge prices been suggested for Alisson and Oblak if everyone kind of feels there is a lack of dominant keepers out there currently?

Surely there's a sea of other dudes who could be what we wanted from Migs and Karius but didn't get. Leno only went for like 19 million pounds to Arsenal.

Just because we can't get the best of the best prospects doesn't mean we have to persist with the present moribund options. Sell, and try again.

Oblak is my man but apparently the release clause is complicated, it can only be triggered by Oblak himself which means we have to hand Oblak the 80 odd mil to do it, not gonna happen

Alisson is a solid keeper, thought he looked solid over two legs against us tbh, he isn't magic like a De Gea but this Liverpool team just needs a big physique solid keeper that compliments the likes of VVD and it'll do. Even if we have to overpay we have to do it, it has reach critical stage

Absolutely. We are pretty set in midfield with the additions of Fabinho and Keita. Fekir would give us excellent depth to the front three. But a keeper is so desperately needed!

Also insert taco girl gif. Why cant we have both??

We have had negative net spend for years. We just sold Coutinho for 150 million. We have the money. We should be able to buy Fekir and a top shelf GK.

I'd go Schmeical. Not at that top level but solid - full of confidence and yells a lot.
Time just start over with the keepers - Migs is a great save but too timid coming out and doesn't lead whilst Karius is probably done mentally.

Doubt he would come given his allegiances. He's not top class anyways. Certainly not like his Dad was.

Taking a moment to appreciate that two of our most oft maligned players, Henderson and Lovren, are starting in a World Cup semi final against each other. Regardless of the result, one of them will have played a big role in getting their club and country to the two biggest fixtures in world football.

Well done fellas.

Very true and both have been quite impressive in the run.
