TBH i think they'd sell to anyone who would give them €70m for him, which is overs by a fair bit.
How does it work for you guys? If you buy him everyone knows Teebo will have to go and that will surely affect his value unless you sell him first before buying Allisson.

I just don’t understand their animosity toward us over it ... no one made them sell and pretty sure all parties at the time thought it was a fair deal !
Roma are looking in hindsight though. Since Salah was such a bargain the next time we go in for one of their players we will pay out the nose.

It was a fair deal. But they were 'over a barrell' apparently with FFP and then prices went ballistic after Neymar's sale (over a month later). LFC should point out it was our record deal at the time (with add-ons that presumably he met), even if we were trying to buy VVD for what would become a fair bit more.

But are that annoyed with us? In a way if they can get 70M for Alisson (world record for a keeper, if you ignore inflation on Buffon) then maybe they feel there's some balancing out? We offer extra 10M and that takes 10M worth off the edge of the Salah deal they imagine they could've got...

He's apparently going to Real for approx 50M.

It’s just a stupid way to look at it though you win some you lose some we overpaid on Aquilani and boroni but we haven’t been bringing that up asking for discounts

It's part of the games they play. They know we are desperate for a keeper and if we are desperate enough they could gain an extra 20mil more on top of the 40mil I rate him at.

A bit of media saying we could be linked with Cillessen from Barca.
Anyone know much about him?

Former Ajax keeper and Dutch national.
We were linked with him a few weeks ago but it was all just speculation. We need a keeper so we get linked to any keeper a journo wants to write about.

The way we operate nowadays it'll be Alisson or nothing, same with Fekir

Palace interested in Ings and we want 20 mil, if anyone's gonna pay us 20 mil for him it's Palace

Yep, I think it's just chaff for the rumour mill. He's big but doesn't set the world alight in YT highlights. He's also 29 (2.5 yrs older than Alisson).

I think it's become clear that Klopp's blind-spot is keepers. Therefore we seem to be going for players with very good reputations and so we'll pay a big premium. Alisson keeps Ederson out of the goal for Brazil, so we think he's the best option and Roma are happy to sell at a premium. Maybe one of the reasons they're happy to sell is because Alisson was kept out of their own goal by Arsenal reject, Szczęsny, in 16/17. He also let 7 goals in versus us (2 legs). We also want someone who has good distribution, so we can't just grab one of the tens of solid shot-stopping goalkeepers around. Ward plays next friendly. Or we still have Mignolet.

I think it's more hopeful from supporters than any concrete evidence that we are in for a GK. I think the media recognise we need one so it's easy click bait. I think Klopp still believes in Karius.

I dont think we will buy a new GK this summer. Now that the World Cup is over I'm hoping we bring Fekir in though.

Fabinho, Keita, Fekir and Shaqiri would be decent summer business!

Time for a deadwood clearance sale.

Ings 20m
Mignolet 15-20m
Karius $10 plus steak knives
Markovic 12m
Origi 10-15m
Moreno 15m
Solanke loan (if Brewster signs a new deal)

Special on keepers - Buy Mignolet get Karius free.
Brewster signed a 5 year deal last month.

Didn't we activate a 1 year extension on him to stop him from going to gladbach so technically he has one year left? So he can stall on signing but still be here
There was talk a couple of days ago that the media jumped the gun a bit on the new deal and that he hadn't actually signed anything yet.
This is a weird situation I've done some digging and only the media have said he's signed a 5 year deal, I can't find anything about a 1 year option.

Even the LFC website has posted that Brewster has signed a 5 year deal in their media watch section but nothing official.

He would have left 3 weeks ago though if his contract ran out and we wouldn't be able to do anything about it.

Then maybe he signed and it's only a youth player so there was no official announcement by the club, unlike say if a first team player signed a new contract like Salah did earlier.

Let's see how that Alisson thing works out, my gut feel is now that Chelsea is interested, there's more incentive for us to sign him to stop him going to a rival
If Courtois goes, I think he ends up at Chelsea. Still think Klopp is backing in Karius.
