Whose the bloke that posted, 'Id rather lose 5 nil once than 1 nil five times'
Has resonated with me all year.
We're finishing the year off strong unlike 2014 and 2009 where we bottled it late.
?
In 2009 our final 11 games were 10W 1D. It was the 3 draws at the start of 2009 that dropped us off top place. We sort of regained it on April 25, but United had a game in hand and got a dodgy pen that helped them turn a 0-2 first half against Spurs into a 5-2 win.
As for 2014, at this stage of the season we were about to win our 11th game in a row and were top of the league. The Palace draw was purely because we were trying to win 10-0 after the heart-breaking luck of Mourinho's smash'n'grab win the week before. It's hard to win 10-0 and so Palace scored and the dream was over. One match where Stevie tried too hard to make up for his slip doesn't really count as 'bottling' it in my book. Ref should've stopped Chelsea's time-wasting rather than thinking that putting on added time was an adequate response.
Neither were 'weak' ends to a season, hence why we came close to winning the title.
EDIT: I see others responded on 13/14. It was an awesome season.
