The thing with Peter Crouch was he was playing well even when he wasn't scoring (And desperately lucky and ****** over by the dubious goal panel, too), Lambert hasn't played well at any stage so far unfortunately

Why is Glen Johnson playing at all?

Seems not give a ****. His marking against Dortmund was laughable and he doesn't do enough going forward to make up for it these days. When Moreno comes he should be 4th in line on the left and 3rd on the right and if Kelly gets a decent run you could make a case for him being 4th there too.

Lambert did not touch the ball from when he came on 'til the final whistle..
Didn't he not get a touch in the game against either man Utd or one of the ICC games?

He doesn't seem to fit this style of play at all, I'd rather Boringi having a run around.

Why is Glen Johnson playing at LB ahead of Jose Enrique?

I agree, johnson should not be playing at all, but brendan seems to like him, and having having heard jamie carragher talk about Jose Enrique (saying he doenst listen to anyone on the field, does what he likes ie going on bombing runs, getting out of position), i dont think BR would rate him either. I for one like jose enrique and would prefer him over johnson at left back, but i just think Br would have more faith in johnson than him, despite johnson being absolute pants for the best part of 18 months.

Lambert is a concern so far, hasnt shown anything at all and then on of his strengths, taking pens, he misses. He needs a goal. It's a good thing he was only bought as a backup and depth signing rather than another Carroll debacle.

Felt so sorry for him, he's a huge Aussie prospect but his defenders gave him nothing and he also got screwed over by that ref. I just hope that they don't think he's any less of a keeper after that game, I'd like him to be getting more game time.
Pretty sure he was voted best young keeper (or something like that ) in the league last year, so i think they know he is a fair keeper.

I actually thought Johnson was pretty good yesterday. I know the consensus is that he's rubbish these days, but credit where it's due. Maybe playing out of position at LB focused him more.
You're doing it wrong. Repeat after me...Johnson is shit. Lambert will flop, never score.

...All jokes aside, could Javier Hernandez play the cheap poaching role off the bench for us if no big name striker comes through? LvG wants rid of him...fresh team, fresh outlook...

There's more of a chance for faith winning miss world competition than that happening.

I still don't know how that is even possible
The kick is actually pretty simple. The impressive thing is that Sturridge knew exactly what was happening and the original ball looks like it was from Lovren who obviously hasn't been training with them for long. Instinct probably, or a good call from Coutinho and/or Studge as they were doing it.
Nah it was out.

I couldn't get the frame before because I'm on an iPad and the YouTube app is the shittiest thing ever but that pic is just after he's touched the ball and it's going back towards the pitch.
The ball is well in there, probably a quarter of the ball, so could have been just in play in the frame beforehand.
