cabaye probably wouldn't be the worst right now, if he comes cheapish. was having a fantastic year last year at the pies before he left. he's crafty and has enough grunt. pretty much an upgrade on allen with a lot more in his arsenal going forward.

Jordan Rossiter has pulled out after being selected for the England U18 squad yet again, last time he was asked about it he seemed to imply that he was doing it to focus more on cracking into the senior squad at Liverpool despite being appointed captain of the England U16 and U17 teams. Probably not a terrible idea as he gets to train right under Rodgers nose while most of the first team are away on international duty, but he'd better be careful he doesn't burn too many bridges.

Edit: Seyi Ojo called up again as well. Strong, fast, skillful, cannon of a shot, kind of a cross between Ibe and Sturridge in terms of style. From memory we got into a bidding war with Chelsea for his signature and ended up paying £2m for him as a 14 year old. One of the top prospects coming through at the moment for both Liverpool and England:

Origi scored a brilliant long shot on his non preferred for Belgium this morning and apparently was one of there best players. He's going to be a star
I've had a constant hard on for him since i seen him in the World Cup, i agree he is going to be world class. If only we had him this season....

Seriously? You're comparing a top class striker getting on the end of a superb cross to Lovren losing the ball, then somehow worked Costa to the goalside of him, then let him run away?
No, I'm pointing out that posting one gif does not good analysis make. Despite your talk of "pinpoint bullet crosses" impossible to stop, one resulted in a goal, the other in a blocked shot on goal. Korn (below) posted an image one second after Skrtel & Lovren had both correctly judged the flight of the ball but failed to reach it, to make the point that they can't judge the flight of the ball...
Geez man you are posting a lot of crap in this thread.
Got anything constructive to say? Stick with the football/Liverpool talk instead will ya?
What have I said that hasn't been about football/Liverpool?
I see the HUTA clan is back in full force.
If that's a reference to me defending BR, then FYI not many people call one person a 'clan'.
Some people are eager to fly in like super fans and go for the man
Yep, they sure are. ^
just because he says things you like doesn't mean he's being entirely objective

Actually you have been anything but polite, you really have trouble with the definition of words, don't you?

I'm embarrassed to be engaging in a conversation with you, you have talked precious little about the club but have just been having a go at me while riding your high horse, classic hypocrite
And you guys might want to look up the word 'constructive'. Saying X, Y, Z are doing things wrong is not constructive. Saying X, Y, Z should do A, B, C to overcome what you perceive is wrong - that's 'constructive'.

Cabaye is class. He could play as the DM or playmaker depending on where the game is at. Also, as he has shown against us, quite good when he finds himself in an advanced position.

Also Ratts, I think that any time someone rationalises a poor BR decision (as it is easy to judge harshly with the benefit of hindsight) that person gets shut down for defending the 'indefensible'. This is usually followed by aggressive and populist rhetoric which snowballs after the emotional roller coaster that is watching a Liverpool game right now.

Here is to hoping that the 11 on the park (please let one of them be Mr. Sturridge) get the three points in an improved display against Palace. I hope that is something we ALL can agree on.

But you tried to tell us Kolo was at fault for the Real goal using a gif... please think before you type

Also you want errors resulting in goals? Must not have seen Lovren play for us most matches this year

And you guys might want to look up the word 'constructive'. Saying X, Y, Z are doing things wrong is not constructive. Saying X, Y, Z should do A, B, C to overcome what you perceive is wrong - that's 'constructive'.
The latter is what people have been doing, it's called constructive criticism. Just because they're saying things you don't like about the club and the players doesn't mean what they say isn't valid

A few posters here embody why the Liverpool fanbase are generally regarded as bias one eyed and delusional. Any criticism of the club or players must not be constructive, yet any futile spin made to justify a horrendous decision/play is "rationalizing". You guys would love living in China

Even during the Hodgson years there were those who shouted people down for daring to criticize him and Konchesky and Poulsen and the likes, it's always like this.

Rumblings Origi wants to end his loan spell early and come back to us in January, please be true.
Probably would depend on where Lille is on the table come Jan, they're like 4 points from the drop zone, right? They probably wouldn't let him go since he is most their goals

Talks of us bidding 30mil for Isco and 10mil for Begovic.

Also talks of Cabaye, Carvalho and Patrick Roberts.

Plus Odegaard said Liverpool is his boyhood dream team.
I wouldnt bother splashing 30 million on Isco. If we plan to play two up top then we already have Sterling, Coutino, Lallana etc who can play that number 10 role. Gerrard can play there too, Suso, Tex. It's just not a position we need to majorly strengthen. Not sure how he goes in a wide position in a 4-3-3 but again we have many options. If Balo is up top then you have Coutinho, Sterling, Markovic, Sturridge, Suso, Lallana etc all capable of playing those spots.

We need more help in midfield and if were spunking 30 million, then perhaps on a striker, not another AM.

I'd love Carvalho and id also really like to take on Cabaye who I think is an excellent CM. Would be a massive upgrade on a bloke like Joe Allen.

Im also all for signing Odegaard. If he wants to come which all reports says he does cos he is a massive Liverpool fan then how can we not take the chance just in case he is the next Messi.

Does any one genuinely think we can make top 4? I think we've been extremely lucky with other clubs around us performing just as bad as us so if we can find some form (hopes pinned on Sturridge) I think we can be in with a big chance. On the down side if the other teams around us find form we could be out of contention come xmas.

Liverpool of last year would have gone for jugular after Emres goal but it does look like we have zero confidence in each other. It's good to see a few pundits sticking up for Balo' aswel, hopefully he can score a few because if he can I think his personality can lift the team morale.
It all depends on Sturridge's fitness. If he comes back, stays fit and scores goals. We are still a big chance to make top 4 simply for the fact that all our rivals have started so poorly along with us. But we have to wait and see on Studge's fitness and how we play when he is back. If it's more of the WHL display then we are golden.

If Chelsea are looking to offload Salah, do you reckon we will have a look at him or has that ship sailed?

Well they made him damaged goods him by hardly playing him, and then when they did playing him on a wing. Hardly our fault for capitalising.
More like they don't wanna take the chance of any of their rejects coming good for us again, they'd rather sell or loan them elsewhere
