I read an article about us still being two years away from making those big signings. It said we needed to sustain CL football to prove we are back and are a bankable big club to come to. They are right in a way but at the end of the day, money talks. We are not a poor club. If we wanna throw 180k a week at Reus we can afford to.

imagine how unhealthy it would be to bank it all on one player. think about the terrible fractured supporter mentality right now. the moaning about suarez being gone will just be replaced with a scary dependence on reus. what if you bring in a 'marquee player' in january and he doesn't deliver you CL? do we claim he's shit and ask for a new talent to dump all the hope on?

Well rather that than signing potential players then claiming they're shit

This is my entire gripe. There is no right answer. The old saying of be careful what you wish for...

Given Rodgers(not having a crack at him, I just don't think it's his strong point) track with transfers I guess there's a fair chance. Not sure you'd be looking at this sort of player anyway.
At Reus? I think we should definitely be chasing a dynamic forward like Reus.

On the other hand, surely there is an argument for quality over quantity? I.e., one 8/10 player is more likely to advance the cause than three 6/10s.

Buying top class players and expecting them to perform at a high level is just normal, don't see how there're any worries there. Better than buying potential who should be bedding in but are asked to perform right away because there are no one else good enough to lead the way

If both the big money signings and the potential signings fail then something's seriously wrong with whoever's doing the signings. Probably sack the whole scouting department and burn the manager like a witch

He wouldn't fit into Mourinhos system with Costa and he won't accept being rotated. Can't see him joining Chelsea.
He'd walk into our team, why would he be rotated with Costao_O he's not a CF. Mou's already been in contact apparently so we're a big a chance as any.

--------Costa
Hazard Oscar Reus
-------Matic Fab

This is how we'd set up:drunk:.
