Teixeira is said to count compatriots Phillipe Coutinho and Lucas Leiva as two of his best friends in the game.

Sky also saying that he wants to push through a move to LFC. Its gonna happen lads i can feel it.

What is the general consensus about him?
Is he likely to be a lock in our best side?

How far below PL standard is the Ukraine league?

Apparently we've agreed terms with Teixeira, the only stumbling block is negotiating the fee with Shakhtar. Honestly, how many players of his calibre have actually wanted to play for us over the last few years? We have to take these opportunities when they come and if it means paying what Shakhtar want (rumoured to be £35m+) to get a deal done then so be it.

Surely all those 1-2ms that we didn't spend on the Salah types have been saved up and put into a jar for situations like this.

Club doing the brinkmanship game again, unfortunately unless we pay up Shakhtar ain't gonna budge
The only way I see us paying up the full fee is if a large part of it is add on based. Something like 28m +10m in add ons I can see Ayre doing. Firmino is a similar deal with a 17m transfer fee + 4m to a 3rd party & a further 8m of add ons that get activated if he's a huge success.

shaktar are not far below PL standard, they won the league 5 of the last 6 years, came second last year playing home games away from home (just read this). they had willian and mkhitaryan so we know we've been sniffing around for ages. they play a proper style of football again probably why we've been looking at their players. from the little i've gathered he would absolutely be one of our best players, i think going by his videos a quicker firmino who is more inclined to shoot, and i'm hoping he is comfortable out wide too because imagine if we get him and he can play wide, i've never even seen a top class winger for us.

the part i'm thinking is strangely realistic is the price - 35 mil euros is still 'only' 27 mil pounds so if we somehow get him for under 30 mil that is pretty great. i think the fact that we heard this would cut into the budget for post-season means that we are looking to make this kind of signing but have accelerated it forward because of our position - thankfully up to 7th from 9th - you almost can't think of anything better than adding a brasillian who has scored 22 goals in half a season to our team right now.

Some notes from the video

Klopp has a backup pair of glasses, No need for Benteke to buy him some haha.

No comment on Alex Teixiera again.

Set pieces both in attack and defence will be reviewed.

Lovren trained the full session and may be on the bench. Sakho and Toure could start again. Caulker is cup-tied.

Clyne will not train due to a knock to his knee, Will have a late fitness test. They may give 90 mins to Flanagan.

2nd bid of 28mil reportedly rejected by Shaktar.

just bloody pay them what they want... why stuff this up for the sake of a few mil? seriously!!!
Exactly. The problem with this also is at the moment he wants to come here and we are saying he's not worth more but his mind will soon change if someone like Chelsea come in and pay what they want.

Benteke.

The thing with those 2 is this - they're good footballers, but they need a specific type of system to get the best out of them. We've made the same mistake twice now, we build 95% of the team around players who move the ball quickly into feet, playing 1 touch football and looking to get in behind defences - and then we sign a striker to be the focal point of it all who can't take advantage of that sort of play, and frequently causes attacks to break down when they do get involved.
Nailed it. This is evidence of how we're run by muppets. I don't know if it was a BR signing or otherwise. I actually rate Benteke, he's quality and always dangerous. I feel sorry for him in a way - if he went to Chlsea he'd be the new Drogba. We just don't play that way. The problem is going to be moving him on now, as he's on pretty big wages isn't he. I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up going for about 20, marko for 10 and Ballo for 10 = shitload of loss. And in the meantime we still need a CB, wideplayers and a new keeper. I think we also need a pure striker (call me old fashioned) and someone to actually run the midfield.

It's not happening, we are too far apart on our valuation of the player.

Shakhtah want €50m for him which is £38m. They aren't very flexible and once they say what they want they don't budge.

Next year. I don't really know enough about Tex to know how you'd get him in with Firm and Cout. I've had to sell Sturra because I'm sick of waiting. Benteke I've tried to sell but couldn't.

Horn/ Ter Stegen
Clyne Matip Sakho Moreno
Gündoğan Henderson
Sane/Tiexeira Firmino Coutinho
Lacazette/ Berahino

Cups/EL

Migs
Flanno Skrtle Lovren Smith
Lucas Can
Ibe Lallana (New winger)
Benteke (Ings)

Take out Berahino and Benteke and add Chicharito and Origi
As for the new winger, you can put Markovic or Ojo there.
I'd personally have Subotic over Skrtel (paired up with Sakho), with Matip being with Lovren in Cups/EL.
Not sure that we will get Gundogan so I could see the CDMs being Can and Henderson, then cups/EL being Lucas and 1 of Allen/Grujic.
