Not good, we don't want to raise the ire of the FA with poor fan behaviour.

Flares are stupid and dangerous, go watch the vision of the Bradford Stadium fire sometime and see just how quickly things can escalate from a misplaced spark.
man if no one was hurt here...

Yes and 56 people DIED here:

265 more were injured. All due to one misplaced match.

The people in your above video were lucky, it only takes one misplaced flare for things to go very, very badly.

Flares burn upwards at 200 degrees centigrade and can get up to 3000, they are meant to be used in open spaces and not packed stadiums full of people. They are a throwback to the hooligan era we've tried to move on from after our reputations were forever tarnished at Heysel.

Yeah no flares

And it seems there's a huge jump on our fitness levels since we've had more breaks in between games. We are pressing bloody well lately and seems to finish games stronger than our opponents

That is disastrous. I don't like flares but I never knew they were that dangerous.

Due to work/travelling had to have yet another internet blackout (morning kick offs really dont work for me) and just finished watching the game. What a performance, absolutely dominated them. They seemed to not be up for the fight and I wonder if that is a "from the top down" result of LVG. Klopp was pumped for the game as were the players.

Just a few quick thoughts before i get the Vasoline out. Sturridge seemed a little pissed at being subbed and after them game, as an old uni student studying psychology I think that's a good and bad thing, it means he wants to stay out on the park and has confidence in his body but after sitting down for 15 minutes he should have calmed down and become more rationale to realise it is for the greater good and his own good.

Origi came on and did exactly what you want, ran into spaces, made the defenders accountable and generally stretched their defence so they couldn't push too high to chase the game.

Everyone played well today, I thought Henderson was great and Moreno solid as well. Lallana has some of the quickest feet I have seen, he is remarkable and I know a few people want to move him on but I think he should stay (not sure what his wage is?), he works as hard as Henderson but is more creative and the link up play he, Firm, Cout & Studge have is very exciting. If our finishing was sharper we would have won 3 or 4 nil. Joe Allen is also rock solid and we should try to keep him unless we receive a ridiculous offer for him.

We have Henderson, Lallana, Milner, Allen, Can, Lucas and moving forward Tex, Kent & Chirivella. I would look to bring in ONLY wingers if they all remained. Milner wont go because of his wage, Henderson is obviously the captain so there will be some tough choices to make at the end of the year because we have arguably 6-8 similar players there.

For me at the moment I am quite optimistic about our squad. If you look at who we have and who is arriving/returning there is near enough to work with.

Ings, Sturridge, Origi, Benteke

The mids I've mentioned plus Markovic returning.

The backs Clyne, Smith, Sakho, Lovren, Moreno, Gomez, Matip, Skrtel.

Need a new keeper though not sure it's high on Klopp's priorities.

Bring in one or maybe two STARTING XI players and I think we'll improve heaps. We don't need any more of this diamond in the rough recruiting, we have enough rough and should only spend on diamonds for the next transfer window.

Man U had a few good forays into our pen but did what we so often do and didn't get a shot away. I think I remember Migs making only 2 simple saves?
Can - 21
Lovren - 26
Clyne - 24
Sakho - 25
Henderson - 24
Coutinho - 22
Firmino - 23
ever Sturridge is only 25 and Lallana is only 27

It is all about how Klopp fills the missing pieces. A nice base is building and hopefully it is more about filling holes now than wholesale change
It's the clear approach of FSG/Rodgers and now we have Klopp who can bring in the top talent more easily. Hopefully the fan base gets behind them as a whole after a few more wins over Man U (and some top 4 pressure). As with most young teams there is inconsistency, but the reaction to the Carling Cup Final loss shows that we probably do have winners. Fun times ahead...

Old wooden stands with rubbish built-up underneath them were a major, major problem. You don't have that at current stadiums and the smoke flare dangers seem over-stated. I'd be annoyed if I couldn't see the match due to them, though, so it'd be hypocritical to say they shouldn't be stamped out.

If you guys want a proper laugh watch the post match show here http://www.fullmatchesandshows.com/...-manchester-united-highlights-full-match-2/#8
Scholes and Ferdinand are pretty much tearing up, also LVG praises the Anfield crowd. It's just funny seeing Man U with the sense of entitlement that our fans have and being shite. If you know what I mean.

p.s. Paul Scholes is a miserable twat, like really f*cking sour. It's brilliant

For a competition they don't really care about, Scholes was crying an insane amount last night. Bloody hell he already went full melts at half time and there was another 45 mins to be played

WAtching McMoneyman winding them up was pretty glorious though I must say

Yep, that was very sad and just a horrible circumstance for all involved... However, can I point out that the Bradford Fire involved wooden stands, which caught fire.
Toumba Stadium is not wooden. It's not exactly easy for this concrete jungle to catch fire, right? The 265 people at Bradford would have been injured because of the fire of the stand, not the match.. or in PAOK's case, the flare.

EDIT: I'm not condoning flares, but I just thought I would point out some key differences in the situations..

Also, PAOK don't give a shit about safety :thumbsu:

Did read up on the video above, at the end the considerate fans tossed the flares onto the pitch and set fire to one of the dug outs causing the match to be delayed by about 40 mins.

We've seen what can happen with flares where the Russian goal keeper received burns after someone threw a flare at him, and in the case above a 14 year old Brazilian fan got killed after copping one to the eye.

Is that really behaviour we want to be encouraging?

Read my edit.
No, we don't want to encourage that rubbish. Remember, that is Greece.. The passion there is difficult to control... Especially up north in Thessaloniki. There's graffiti everywhere on every wall/sign/whatever of 'PAOK GATE 4' or 'ARIS GATE (whatever it is)', so these guys are especially football-crazy.

England is sooooo much different. No corruption, no real danger.

Fwiw United have condemned their fans for singing the Hillsborough songs last night.

But since it's only a matter of time until our fans sing Munich songs when we next lose to them, it's hard for to take a moral high ground on this.

Can anyone drag up a report of the last time you heard our fans singing about Munich though?

As for flares. I think they look great and the matches in Greece look incredible for atmosphere. But everyone is right, they are far too dangerous. You dont want them at Anfield even if they do look pretty awesome.

Also reports it was smoke bomb right, not a flare?
