Milner is still good enough to be a benchmark in the XI
Not for me. If everyone's fit he doesn't start right now.

I see Klopp playing this team if everyone's available right now:

--------------Mings-------------

Clyne---Lovren-----Sakho----Moreno

----------Henderson---Can----

------Lallana-----Coutinho-----Firmino

--------Sturridge---------

Could only see Milner replacing Lallana out wide to do a job defensively in that line up. Otherwise there's nobody else he would replace.
If we buy Gotze he replaces Lallana in that lineup and if we buy Xhaka he would replace either Henderson or Can.

Someone said that he has 3 assists in 4 starts this season (all over the last month since returning from a loan with Wolves)? Bloody impressive, this guy has end product in spades. He has Ibe's physicality and athleticism, but also the awareness and ability to slow down and guide the ball into exactly the right position - whereas Ibe will often get himself into a threatening position in the final third and then just hit the ball aimlessly into the area. I think Cooldude said it once but the way he passes and crosses the ball is uncannily Barnes-like.

Milner has quietly put together a really good debut season for us. He's definitely in our best XI right now.

Milner, Joe Allen and Lucas are the three that probably wont be happy being squad players and if we bring in some top talent for next season, some players might want to move on.

Grujic is already on his way and we've been heavily linked to Zielinski, another young CM. But if both of those come in, being young I cant see them usurping Allen/Milly/Lucas in CM.

Can is a beast and starts and hopefully we have a fit Hendo all next season. Midfield is definitely the most interesting area of the field for us come the summer.

Chelsea in a couple of days.

Winning doesn't really matter, but this probably the last opportunity for our best 11 to get some good form under their belts before the cup final.

Sturridge
Coutinho-Lallana-Firmino
Can-Milner
Moreno-Toure-Lovren-Clyne
Mignolet

Subs: Bogdan, Skrtel, Flanagan, Lucas, Allen, Ojo, Benteke

Winning does matter.

If West Ham draw/lost to Manure tonight then we move ahead of them into 6th with a win over Chelski.

It's a guaranteed Europa spot for next season if we don't get over Sevilla.
I'm confident we can get into the Champions league by winning the Europa league.

Losing the final and making Europa I guess would be a consolation prize. Better than no European comps at all.

On that discussion I think Milner is ahead of Henderson, on the last 6 months form for sure. Now whether that's down to injury or not is irrelevant, Hendo needs to get himself right over the summer unless he's in danger of losing his starting XI position which then brings into question the captaincy.

I think Joe Allen has been somewhat of a revelation the last 3 - 4 months, is turning into a different type of Lucas where you have absolute faith in when he plays no matter if it's starting or coming off the bench. Add to that he has added a real attacking element to his game which I didn't think was there before. I really hope he stays on as I do with Lucas & Kolo.

For me Skrtel looks shot, which is a shame.
CamBram was great on the weekend, still unsure of Stewart and Ojo was good also. Not sure why Smith isn't starting games like Watford when Moreno is hardly setting the world alight in a defensive manner.
