I think Klopp has given Ibe a second chance, played a lot of football towards the end of the campaign.

Would be stupid to get rid of him now, his value is low.

This. With no Europe and a pre-season under Klopp, I'll be extremely disappointed if we don't finish top 4.
it'll be a tough, tough ask though.

Chelsea have no Europe either, can see them rebounding this season.
Man Utd are going to spend big (again)
then there is Man City, Arsenal, Spurs

Maybe with some luck we can get there.

We/Klopp probably should target winning the FA Cup as our ticket into the Champs League assuming winning the FA Cup gets you into Champs League still.

The squad is way too bloated as is, let alone for a campaign without European football. And that's not even taking into account signings like Grujic, Zielinski (assuming he comes) etc.

We need to be more ruthless. We are a mid-table side as things stand right now thanks to the players we have. We talk during the season about making changes to the squad and then when it looks like we might sell them, supporters go soft and say that they would prefer that we kept them.

We need to seriously streamline the squad, and that will include selling players of some value. That's life.
That's a nice sentiment to have, but with our record in accumulating injuries over the past few seasons - surely you can understand the preference for a bloated squad over a skinny one?

The squad is bloated in a sense that too many players are samey and equally not good enough, we need to sell a few then strengthen the first team

But it isn't too big if we're in Europe, and it is a complete failure for us to not even be in Europe, it's inexcusable

I don't expect much this season, Man Utd City Chelsea and Arsenal all spending big to improve after last season, we can't attract players of the same quality as them

We're basically relying on Jurgen to pull a rabbit outta a hat at this stage to do anything special in the league, coz I don't think the current crop of players are good enough to win the league and would be great if they can even get top 4

I'd just be happy with Europe next season, no Europe seriously is just ******* rubbish

Lol, some stupid links with Townsend and N'koulou, apparently we'd activate Townsend's release clause if we can't get Mane!

Wait if it's actually true I'm gonna jump off the West Gate bridge

I do like N'koulou though so I hope it's true, he is great in FM

Moreno yes if Hector comes in. Ibe is a tough one. Loads of talent but attitude problems. Could be better off loaning him for a season.
I can't see either player ever being of the standard required for a side that has designs on consistently challenging for honours.

Djimi Traore even now would be a better option at LB than Moreno.

We have far too many players. You can't build a squad based on the expectation that you will suffer an injury crisis. You need depth, but there is a difference between having options and just hoarding players.

Look at central midfield in particular: Henderson, Can, Milner, Allen, Lucas, Grujic and if reports are to be believed, Zielinski. That's seven "senior" options (six if you exclude Grujic) - not even including youngsters like Stewart and Brannagan. It's far too many players for two CM spots, and yet now apparently we all want to keep Allen and Lucas.

Stewart will be 23 as well.

I think if Lucas stays it'll probably be as a CB and Milner's future isn't at CM either so we're probably not as bloated in that area as it looks on paper.

Plus Allen looks like he'll be off. (sad face)
