I heard on a podcast Holmes pick and roll defence is worse than Aytons.
Although of guys that are in the regular rotation he actually has the best defensive rating (106 - cringe)
Does get high numbers of 'stocks' though. You reckon he is a good defender?

Pick and roll defence is one aspect of defence but I’d be surprised if that was accurate.

Take this from a month ago



He makes players change their shot which is a big aspect of defending and usually more impactful.

He’s a bit of a bull in a china shop on the fouls, but I’ll take that from a backup C.

He’s got a DFG% of 51 on shots less than 6 feet.

Embiid is at 53.6

Gobert is 56.8

Capela is 60.7

Jokic is 61.2

Ayton is 64

So yes I think he’s a good defender.
