The individual awards are a consolation prize for supporters of teams who didn’t win the Flag.
Oh well, we got smashed in a final but Daics won goal of the year.

Well that's what we're fast becoming if not already, we're no more deserved of chest beating than dogs, sainst or dees fans. Now we hope and pray for those individual awards because we can't win flags.

Here’s a sobering fact; whilst Carlton and Essendon have been languishing in the depths of AFL despair one way or another and whilst either hasn’t seen a Premiership since 1995 and 2000 respectively, Collingwood are still a Premiership behind. So far we can talk the talk but can’t walk the walk.

Lot of argy bargy in this thread but ultimately it comes down to your own personal views. Pies are the biggest club in the land to me, and it has nothing to do with most of the metrics being bandied about in support of people's views. It purely that they're my club. They're the only team I HAVE to watch. I don't give a rats about the other 17 teams. I don't give a rats about other sporting codes. I'll watch them/it, but it doesn't come with anywhere near the motivation of watching the Pies. The Pies are it. How or why you see it differently is for you to resolve.
