From a Dogs point of view a few come to mind

- What if Peter Gordon, Dennis Gallimberti and others weren't around to stop us merging with Fitzroy
- What if the Dogs got Barry Hall a year earlier like they tried. Were a bees dick from the Grandfinal without him in 09
- What if Adam Cooney never cracked his kneecap
- What if Luke Darcy didn't demand the Dogs interviewed Luke Beveridge

All Hawthorn's wasted high picks in the mid 2000's....
2005 Draft
Pick 3 - Xavier Ellis... chosen over Scott Pendlebury and Josh Kennedy (WCE)
Pick 6 - Beau Dowler... chosen over Paddy Ryder, Nathan Jones and Shannon Hurn
2006 Draft
Pick 6 - Mitch Thorp... chosen over Joel Selwood, David Armitage and Jack Riewoldt
Pick 24 - Brent Renouf... chosen over Kurt Tippett, Tom Hawkins, Todd Goldstein and Robbie Gray
2007 Draft
Pick 29 - Brendan Whitecross... chosen over Jack Steven and Easton Wood

One final one that hurts is 2010 Draft...
Pick 38 - Mitch Hallahan to Hawthorn
Pick 40 - Luke Parker to Sydney..... :'(:'(:'(

The final round of 2008 threw up some classic ones.

All North Melbourne had to do to sew up 4th spot was beat cellar-dwellars Port Adelaide, in Melbourne. They duly got flogged by 70-odd points, crashed to 7th on the ladder, had to play an away final first up in Sydney, and lost.

Adelaide then took advantage of the free gift by beating the Doggies to seemingly take 4th spot. The Saints then came out and absolutely flogged the Bombers by 100+ points, to steal 4th by less than 1%. Adelaide finished fifth, and also lost their elimination final.

Two teams went from Top 4 "certainties" to eliminated in the first week.

Was he under pressure at that point? Back to back prelims isn't a sackable offence.
From what I've heard, winning that premiership saved Clarko's job. He was very much half way out the door, as it was seen as his side was under performing (remember, 2009 they finished outside the 8, and their first grand final since 2008 was 2012, which they lost to Sydney). He wasn't totally gone, but the club was definitely assessing their options.

Winning a flag tends to do that.

Given what your mob did to us in the first final I think both North and Adelaide dodged a bullet there, we beat Essendon by 108 then you destroyed us in the final :(

If Lucas doesn't go nuts west coast host port in 07 instead of traveling to adelaide for qualifying final.

Cousins doesnt do hammy
West coast probably win getting a much needed week off
Play North in prelim and waltz it in
Play geelong as a grand final hardened side against a flying but probably still nervous side

The country zones were to be roated around every year to ensure that no club could dominate but 2 clubs Hawthorn and Carlton did not want to be rotated because they had the best zones.
The Saints did v well out of Ballarat

That said it never made sense to give StKilda Ballarat & Footscray Gippsland !!

BSN.

What comes out of us when we cut ourselves?
What happens to our clothes when there's too much grease and sauce on them?
What does the N in RNB hip hop band NWA stand for?

2006 - Sydney beats West Coast in first final at Subiaco by a couple of points.
If WC had won we would have had a home prelim against them (we had beaten them twice already that year, the last one by 80 odd points from memory), instead of travelling to Sydney to play at Olympic stadium where we had never played before.
Would have been 50/50 game at least, and winner would have played Sydney or Adelaide in GF presumably.

What if...

North Melbourne has relocated to the GC? Would they have bastardised further with another move to Tasmania?

Fitzroy had always stuck with their 'Gorilla' name, would they have the opportunity to re-enter the league as the Fitzroy Gorillas?

What If Fitzroy survived up until the new television rights deal came through?

What if everyone finds out what Essendon's original nickname was?... it's not pretty, let me tell ya...
I think they should. If Brisbane doesn't take off in the next few years, just bring them back here as the Fitzroy Lions or Fitzroy Gorillas.
