You must love UKTV.

I know this is about The Bill, but has anyone else ever wondered why Prisoner is on UKTV?

I think it must be that UKTV is designed for US audiences, so they chuck in some stuff from the Commonwealth!
I vaguely remember them showing an NZ soapie about a hospital as well.

That was so weird, he looked exactly the same as he does in The Bill except smaller.

I agree with most of the posters here. This show has gone downhill big time.

One of the great things about it was the fact that you might not see it for a few weeks but you could pick it up so quickly. This was because almost every episode had a good story and the characters were so strong.

They also played the difference between the CID and uniform and the lower and higher ranks so well. I used to know a WPC and she said it was so realistic she sometimes thought she was still at work.

The last episode I actually watched all through was when Sgt Cryer 'retired'. It was almost as though the speech he made was directed at the programme makers.

Characters the likes of Ted Roach (the ultimate 'results over method' poiliceman, 'Tosh' Lines, June Ackland and Sgt Cryer made this into a great programme.

As for WPC Datta...... hubba hubba:)

Glad I'm not the only Datta fan out there, Seeta Indrani is a babe ;)

I used to be a big fan of the Bill and have stopped watching it since it became a soapy.

First time I saw the show I missed the start of it and thought it was a documentary, a la 'Cops'! Shame to see a once quality program slide so far downhill, the writers have probably run out of ideas, the show has been going since 1983.

Thanks mate, you have just spoilt the show for us Aussies ;) , Sgt. Cryer is still going strong over here mate. :D

Many apologies.

It sounded like you were up with us.

I haven't really spoiled the Cryer 'exit' though. You'll see when you get to it.

Unfortunately it sounds as though the show is at a stage when it still wasn't that bad.

It gets worse :(
