But then to agree to the show.

I don't understand why'd he'd pay $11k for two chairs and a table.
$$$

The earning potential of being on the Block is probably too good to pass up. Sure it makes things a bit awkward for them but it's a great opportunity nevertheless.

I just hope their bathroom won't suffer, especially seeing that they dedicated most of their time last night to the pool area.

Should be a good 'un tonight. All four ladies scrub up quite well.

Steve really is hopeless - $11k for 2 chairs and a table, seriously... Not happy with him and Chantelle not releasing their chippies either, that'll come back to bite them I'm sure.

Ok that is pretty silly purchase.

Interestingly, Chantelle & Steve tweeting they organised the 15 chippies with 1 days notice... and that it has been portrayed as they did nothing.

The editing and voice overs regarding Steve is bordering on bullying.
At this point I would question why any non tradie would want to go on this show if they're going to be portrayed as a lazy idiot.

Disagree. To me it's been the accumulation of a couple of weeks of being totally useless at everything. You don't need tradie skills to win the Block as Phil and Amity proved on the all stars but you need to be able to make decisions quickly and manage the trades you employ well. Its been building for weeks that the guy cannot make a decision. The effort with the pool furniture was the icing on the cake and his attitude towards everything is piss poor.

I have also thought "this guy is doing my head in"
But I thought last night it was just being portrayed that way... they're getting the rooms done, so it cant be only her doing the work - that'd be impossible... and I did notice the way Keith spoke to Kyle rather than Steve from pretty much day 1.
Check out their twitter feed - they certainly feel that there is some crafty editing going on.

Happily stand to be corrected on the chippies business. Chantelle and Steve seem to be getting the rough end of the pineapple on everything, including editing. Actually hoping they win something now.

The Pool:

Steve and Chantelle:
They didn't gie chippies to help work, they were only seen on the site twice, and Steve bought $11k furtniture. It's just no good. Though I noticed Brad trying to help Steve out a little bit by giving some support, but it sound to clichéd.

Kara and Kyal:
I am not sure what they really did for the pool area. The only thing I can remember is the coffee machine which we are yet to in the common area.

The Twins:
Don't know which twin it was, but she organized the mandatory pool fencing which looks pretty good. And the TV was massive.

Brad and Dale:
These guys spent a lot of time in the common area, actually thought there rooms would suffer, but they haven't.

No doubt the editors are playing up the hopelessness of Steve and Chantelle, but personally being involved in the building industry you make your own luck (most of the time) and i will tell you for a fact things will go wrong when you are unorganised which those two are coupled with the fact they don't have great building knowledge is recipe for disaster. At first a felt sorry for them, then stressed now they make me angry with the woe-is-me type of attitude like everything including the world is against them. Chantelle sooking about not having enough money to buy the bath Kara bought, well bad luck your rooms sucked and you didn't win any money. Good on Kyal and Kara for being better organised, working harder and producing better rooms, it wasn't luck that they won, nor was it bad luck steve and chantelle lost.

The twins sooking up about losing challenges is annoying too, and looks like they are going to sook up big time Sunday from copping it from the judges. For memory Kyal and Kara coped a whack from the judges a few weeks back and took it on the chin. Although the "super K's" (i hate that saying too) annoy me as they are super arrogant. Dale and Brad all the way, they have fun and laugh and get on with the job with little fuss!

Well they have said they gave 4 chippies, and organised 15.
There was also the scene where she was sealing the ceiling....
AFAIK, his job was to get furniture (which he did) and it wasn't a table & chair... it was a few pieces.
Dales was to do the gardening - - of which -- they had landscapers! (but agree, D&B seemed to be down there the most)
The girls was the fence.
Who knows what K&K did.

I am not really a fan of S&C, but I can look beyond editing and see that maybe they're being portrayed that way for the show.

At one stage they were being told off for not giving up their chippies to work on the pool area.
Steve was only there for the ceiling because everyone had gone out, and yet he waited for Brad and Dale to get back.
Bar for the bean bags(which look pretty cool), Steve was organizing the stuff the day before it was due.
Kyal and Kara were probably in their gold plated house somewhere.

Yes - Steve's slowness & disorganisation wasn't good, and he doesn't seem to be a great problem solver, or lacks confidence, or realises he has no expertise in actual building... which brings me back to I wonder if anyone who is not a tradie would want to go on this show.

Well, they either didn't give Luke (which is fine IMO) or they are liars - on twitter stating they did indeed give - 4 chippies, and Keith giving the job of organising the others

They went on the show because they wanted some experience before they renovated Chantelle place.

Workplace bullying  Good grief, its called constructive criticism, with this logic every contestant can claim the judges have bullied them at some point. These 2 need to grow up, already forgotten that Keith fixed their screed for them a few weeks ago.

LOL. yeah that might be taking it a bit far, but I do think there has been some unnecessary voice over work happening.

To anyone with half a brain its obvious they're getting a bad edit

When you're filming 8 people all day, then trying to peice together 60 minutes of TV, you have the pick of the litter on how you want to portray people, especially under such a stressful environemt where everybody is going to get angry or make a stuff up.

Obviously Steve didnt spend 11k on a 2 chairs and a table, as he pointed out in his FB post it also included outdoor lounge, 8 chairs and some other things.

Its kind of turning me off the show, This is the only reality tv show I watch because I've always thought it had good content and wasnt focused on drama or twists and other stuff like that, but it really feels like theyre going down that road now trying to portray villians and heroes and not really giving you a good look at rooms until the reveals.

once upon a time, long, long ago, reality tv was just that. reality. but with cameras. as time progressed people in the world became more attuned to playing the game.

"reality". interesting concept isn't it (say that in a bruce mcavaney way). once a camera starts rolling i argue that it is no longer reality as the way one acts changes to either dramatise the situation, or play it cool so as not to offend.

Steve is naive as his TV persona to not understand that producers create a story nor foresee it as a possibility.

This is hardly groundbreaking stuff.

I think he understands it.
I do not think he believes it is fair (neither do I).
I don't watch the show for this trumped up drama - but then again maybe I am getting over this show. I liked it for the renovating, not the interior designing show that it has become.
