I also said all along that the twins would win it if not be close and that came true - despite what people think about them and what about people think is "on trend" in home design, their house had a very Melbourne mood to it and aside from the single garage it had lots to like and the rest of it was very easy to work with.

This.

Georgia and Ronnie built the best ever AirBnB house.

The twins built a house to live in.

Fixed that for you.

I think they underestimated the location as well- iirc at the start when they were allocated it Georgia was banging on about how much she loved that house and it was a great pick anyway. Yeah right.

I wonder what the rationale is behind making the host a contestant too, aside from the obvious of a ratings grab...
Maybe Scotty & Shelley will be contestants and build a property for charity? A nice write-off for the series.

Me. I’ll hit him up during the week. I think he’s heading back to New South next week.

Cheers!!

I want GOSS. And copious amounts of it.

/we got insiders on MAFS, one season of Survivor... we're getting accustomed to this now.

I do agree R&G probably deserved more, but a real estate auction/sale isn't about getting what you deserve (though most vendors think it is), it's about getting what the market is willing to pay for it. That doesn't always work out in the vendor's favor. But I still think $296,000 is a pretty nice chunk of change for 3 months work.

i dont think they are upset about what they got per se (or what the others got), but what they missed out on by doing the auction in the wrong order. Clearly they left another $200k-$300k on the table by incorrectly choosing to go first in the auction. To me its come from the fact they ****ed up and its cost them dearly.

I like that they marketed these as luxury homes and yet most of the houses had deficiencies due to embarrassing budget constraints. Even R&G with their flat pack table in the wine bar. If you're spending $4M on these you'd want no stone unturned in regards to quality.

how many people buying these houses are keeping all the furniture? most of it will be sold on facebook/gumtree.

Hence why I'd love to see a follow up special on all the houses and apartments they've done over the years.

They probably look so different.

Probably all of them as I reckon all of them are investments.
I did read somewhere that the person who bought H4 (from Sydney) does plan to live there "eventually." Danny has already given H3 to charity. All the rest were bought by investors so they'll probably end up being high-end airBnB's or rentals.

I don't know if it's representative of the market as a whole of not but 80% of sales being investors seems... I don't like it and I don't think it's good for the show, all the judges BS about building a home, it's not going to be a home, it's going to be a stopover.

I was looking at a few of last year's properties to see if any had been offloaded since then and I don't think any had. But one was being rented for $2700 a week

Reduce the budget and move the houses out a little and build real family homes.

I agree to a point. These houses were never built for first home buyers (unless they're rich), they were trying to garner the luxury end of the market that really is only where investors are. Even the uber-rich (ppl like Danny) wouldn't be looking to buy a house in a Hampton cul de sac to live in. So, that really only leaves investors at these prices.

Well well well... looks like RnG's amazing plain old white tin shed wasn't so great after all.

All jokes aside, the way they carried on after winning 300k sums them up. Very ungrateful and me me me attitude. How's The Block producers trying to pain them as Saints. Pls.

Why on God's earth would you put yourself up first in the auction order. Bizarre and very arrogant decision making.

It was the recommendation of their real estate agent, so it was hardly an arrogant decision. They did what their agent told them to do.
