Again, I don't agree that they (the producers) set Steph up to be a dumb bimbo or an arrogant bitch or anything. Leah & Christie trash-talked Steph in the first week as being phony and up herself, and that impression has stuck so far with many of you. Even though I think everyone now realizes that Leah (in particular) is a bully and a narcissist, anything she says should be dismissed.

S&G had a woeful first week, which had to do with the shit builders they had. Even Dan and Keith told them they should sack their builders after the many dumb mistakes they made doing that bathroom. The couple got overwhelmed. But I think they'll improve. I've seen it many times on this show where a couple starts badly but gets better as the series continues, eventually winning rooms.

This thread is a bit funny.

A few days ago when everyone hated Steph they were questioning her abilities as an architect drawing on things that had nothing to do with the role of an architect.

Now that people are starting to view Steph as a victim of bullying, they aren't questioning her abilities on things that everything to do with the role of an architect.

Being able to communicate with builders and construction managers, and being able to recognise when they aren't carrying out the vision, is something she should really be able to do well.

Fans of The Block keen to purchase a home featured on the show will have to be prepared to dig deep with the houses expected to fetch up to $2.85m when they go to auction.
The agent price guides for the five homes in Charming St, Hampton East that are being transformed on the show this season, have been released.
Eliza and Liberty’s property, House 5, with five bedrooms and four bathrooms, is tipped to go for between $2.7m to $2.85m.
House 4, which is being renovated by Steph and Gian, and features five bedrooms and three bathrooms is expected to sell for between $2.2m and $2.4m.
Kyle and Leslie’s property, House 1, with four bedrooms and four bathrooms, has a price guide of between $2.5m and $2.75m.
House 2, renovated by Leah and Ash and featuring five bedrooms and four bathrooms, has an estimate of between $2.5m and $2.75m.
Kristy and Brett in House 3 have a price guide of $2.5m to $2.75m on their work which boasts five bedrooms and four bathrooms.
The homes will go to auction in early November.

At the end of the day, the producers of the show should be dealing with cheating, not a BC meeting run by crusader Leah.

/but of course the latter is what the show wants
The show only cares about making it like MAFS. Nothing to do with building or styling. It’s a farce that Danny Wallis just buys all the properties

I think Steph would've been in her element if they were working under normal conditions (ie, not on TV). But I challenge anyone to try and build a bathroom from scratch in a week and see how you go. That's bloody hard. I don't think being an architect means that person knows how to manage a build. In my experience, once the plans are drawn, the architect has nothing to do with the actual building process unless the plans need to be altered. I think you're overestimating what an architect should know, especially one who seems fairly new to her career.

As an architect she would know styling / structural elements etc but there is always going to be conflict between an architects vision and the reality of a build.

Steph has shown 0 sense of good architecture, thats the thing. Has just been so anxious and upset the whole time and probably why the 2nd builders shes getting are walking out on her, probably look at her and go nah no idea what there doing, dont want my name attached to this

They aren’t “building” anything. They had to design a bathroom, go to Pinterest, find a design, takes you 5 minutes. Unfortunately they had the biggest dud builders ever to work on the show.

It's been pretty wild, between not installing waste pipes, drilling the wrong side of a bathroom (when the vanity should've been a pretty big giveaway), walls properly crooked... and the contestants didn't hire any of these builders.

Where the **** did 9 find these Dodgy Bros? And surely the comes a critical mass with pricing where people aren't going to go on the show any more - if you're going to give me pathetic builders that prevent me making money at auction on what should be a premium reno, why am I going to commit 3 months?

So why are ppl blaming Steph for this? I don't think it's unreasonable for her to expect that the builders C9 picked and vetted for her knew how to do the job. They let her down.

And the new builders aren't dumping her. Whoever is saying that rubbish is a troll. They have another job they have to start in a couple of weeks. Again, why is that Steph's fault? I'm beginning to think Leah is posting in this thread with some of the rubbish being said.

Do you believe everything that goes on on The Block?

Why would the 2 replacement builders go on the block if they know they have something coming up 2 weeks?

They either don’t want to work with her or they thought this is way out of our league.
