I've only been watching this incarnation of The Block for 3-4 years - has it always been SE Suburbs ie. between St Kilda and Mt Macedon?

Is there any thought that you might encourage different buyers if you explored different parts of Melbourne? Or are they happy to have one bloke buy 2-3 properties and have the others go unsold?

I was driving through Brunswick today and there's a string of townhouses with a few of them for sale. I thought that'd be a really interesting spot to do it. But I guess no one is paying $4-5m for a Brunswick townhouse?

Might need a good working relationship with the council.

They paid a mint for these houses too.

Hadn't even thought of that, it's probably a really good call.

I don't imagine the progressive, Greens-dominated councils here in the inner north letting them get away with much.

Mt Macedon is about 60km north west of the CBD, definitely not SE suburbs there LOL

The Block is all for the super-rich end of the market these days. They figure the viewers want to see super luxury homes, and C9 makes more money. Although the houses probably won't make much of a profit this year (as it's reported they've already decreased in market value from the purchase prices). The ads, sponsorships, and product placement help them keep things in the black.

As if anyone will pay for that spa. The logistics in moving it would be a nightmare and it’s dilapidated. Must of got one of those scam messages on gumtree where the buyer is overseas and they’re arranging a courier to pick it up.
