Hey this is a great opportunity for the General and other similar critics of Mclure - to personally stand up and confront Mark with their criticisms and complaints

basically summarised as "Mclure is a paid hack who knows nothing and has no respect"
Yet it is okay for some to say that Ratts is a hack & Sticks should give it away.

You do realise when Maclure appears on some of the Fox Footy programs, his fellow panellists are totally taking the piss out of him because he is becoming as much a dial a quote as what John Elliott used to be (still is when given air time).

Mark can buy and sell most panelists 20X over - in both the credibility and the smarts stakes. He is on there as a Carlton 'true blue' man - for obvious reasons. I don't think David King or Robbo whatever that idjot Essendon supporter name is can take the piss out of Mark - and I know for a fact that his ABC offsider would never dream of it.

All Mark has said in public - is that CFC likes to see improvement every year. He has never bben too excited about the early rounds and was never a subscriber to the CFC is a Premiership threat BS. His more recent comments on Ratten as a barracker are fair enough in context, and he is certainly not alone in making these observations. To suggest that McLure is a one sided critic of carlton is simply not true.

As for boofheads who wish to see Ratten and Kernahan removed half way through a season - well they should be ignored - for being the boofheads they are. Mclure would never suggest such a thing.

Cant they foxtel it? What have we become?

It's called innovation rather than outright copying it. .. Remains to be seen how it goes but this way it is a lot more accessible. .. hope its more youtube than Telstra's pootube. ..

i suppose i can see how it is necessary in light of all the social-connectedness and so on, but i personally won't be watching (that is for various reasons). i'm yet to see the essendon and collingwood channels and what they do, so i'm not exactly sure what to expect.

i wonder though, i have my doubts about 'hard hitting opinions'. much like we approach the afl's own setting up of a newsbody to provide content, with cynicism (can we trust the afl to be self-critical?) i expect there to some aspect of self-preservation to it. we can expect some to be unsaid, and probably some sort of governance from higher-ups as to how far criticism may go, topics, so forth. are we going to see panellists converse on the coaches job, who should be delisted, etc?
and then, is there the threat of just becoming more fluff if we steer away from the uncomfortable? if i need to see circle-jerking over our team i can just come to this forum. or i can just watching one player interviewing another and asking questions about nothing in particular and receiving answers in kind. are we going to see anything markedly different from content we are provided with already (or is it going to replace some)? so long as the content is different, it will be interesting to those who can take part. quality over quantity.

the supporter interaction... this is a bit tricky, coming after a couple of scandals, and one of them involving baiting mclean. screening process, both on 'supporters' and topics broached?

clearly i have no idea what to expect though, so i may watch a couple of episodes to inform myself about what is happening and how everyone involved goes about it.

I'll be jumping on the Google+ Hangout thing today, what questions should I be asking Mr Maclure? I'm already thinking to ask about 3 rucks, plan B game plan, forward structure and 2012 player improvement.

Ask them what they actually think the club is lacking? Whether it be player wise or off field wise?
What are we doing wrong to be out of the eight and injuries can no longer be an excuse. 16 or 17 players from out WCE finals game played in Friday nights loss to Hawthorn.
Do they have players in mind that they would like to bring into the club to improve us?

All good questions, will try and get them all in.

Cable TV - 20th century technology. Excludes real fans and probably won't even be around in 10 years time. IPTV is the future.

In 10 years time transmissions on TV will be atleast 1440p or 2160p for the to stream via the internet we will need a shit load more bandwidth than the hokie pokie NBN that Labor are spending 50 bill on.

Is there anywhere i can watch this. Wasn't able to at 1pm.

Doubt it. .. You realise we're not even taking advantage of 1080p which has been the HD standard for films for a good 5years now. .. Additionally, the hokie pokie NBN is expandable. .. Fox and other TV providers will be looking to be completely IP driven in the next 10years, one would think. ..

I think it is safe to say that when the rest of the world is projecting holograms into your living room Channel 7 will still be broadcasting low definition television. The rest of the world get the Aust Open tennis in HD.
