David Koch, April 2016:

What the * happened? Do we have a black mould infestation in the offices at Alberton frying everyone's brains or what?

Koch can SAY the right things. He can't DO them, though...

Curiosity got the better of me after the Melbourne game last night and I paid the $18 to download the document from ASIC site to see when Christine Zeitz officially resigned, given the Form 484 was lodged on 4th April and I know Darren Cahill's was lodged a month after he officially resigned.

I spoke to Christine briefly after the AGM on 10th February and I asked about how much travelling she had done over the previous 6 months now the covid travel restrictions had pretty much been completely removed. She said a lot to Canberra, but had done a few trips to USA and to Asia given her job as CEO of Northrup Grumman's Asia-Pacific operations, which includes Japan and South Korea.

There is no doubt with the current Chinese defence posture especially over Taiwan and the South China sea, the US and Oz response ( as well as Japan's and South Korea's) has meant her travel and general workload has increased and is projected to increase and that has had an impact on her decision to step off the Port board.

From her Linkedin page she has also stepped off the board of CEDA - the Centre for Economic Development in Australia which is a think tank of / for economists, academics, bureaucrats and business people. It is a very influential think tank in Canberra. When I did my economics degree I regularly read their articles and seminar papers.

She has decided to stay a member of our AFLW Committee, joined in January and the workload would be a lot less than as a board member. So she isn't completely lost to the club.

But I am intrigued that she decided to resign the Monday after we got spanked in the showdown, wearing the prison bars which had been such a tough fight, and had been humiliated by Collingwood at the MCG when it was built up as such a big and important game and Collingwood announcing they had "graciously let us use the PB guernsey."

I have no doubt workload is the principal driver of her resignation, but when we perform so badly and Koch says we are sticking fat until August, that would have been an influence on when she officially resigned.

She still is deputy chair at SBS and still chair of Defence Trailblazer an organisation that links the defence industry and academics at Uni of Adelaide and Uni of NSW, which accelerates research and commercialisation of defence related ideas and technology as well as train people for the defence industry.

Has more important things to do other than watch Koch rule the roost.

So Christine resigned the day that Treddersā€™ ā€˜untenableā€™ declaration hit the airwaves and the newsflashes.

I recall hearing that she wanted to resign last year, when Koch overruled the board of directors and went on TV without telling them and unilaterally pronounced Hinkley as PAFC senior coach in 2023.

What next?

Thanks for that RussellEbertHandball .
Interesting timing as you said.

How about a vote of no confidence in Koch?

The first page of this thread is hilarious.
Yes the usual suspects flying off about how great the Millenial Diversity will be and anyone that disagrees is a Trump supporting RWNJ Boomer Misogynist whilst the more circumspect display their misgivings that she seems to be all spin no substance simply trying to feather her own nest.....Mmmmmmm.

The fact that there are seven old white dudes on our board who have also done absolutely nothing to help fix our problems and yet people like yourself on this board are fixated so hard on Holly probably means 'the usual suspects' were right.

Iā€™m not saying Koch is a clown, but his carā€™s got square wheels and his feet arrive three minutes before the rest of him.

Those old white dudes don't put themselves out there and self aggrendise like she does.

It's the balance of karma. The more outspoken and ridiculous you are in public, the more ridicule you open yourself up to receive.

Holly literally brands herself as a 'disruptor', and absolutely no disruption to mediocrity and underachievement occurred on her watch.
