ps, Topdon, spot on. if they can get away with it then more power to them. Until someone actually has the courage to look at how the games been officiated (or not as is more the case nowdays) then nothings in the way to end it.

Thx Grendel. As i have been saying all along...it's the umpires responsibility to officiate on the game as they see it and award free kicks accordingly.

What riles me is the constant whinging that Lloyd is a diver and Hirdy is an umpires pet. When is the focus going to be taken off these players and places firmly on the shoulders of the umpiring department? They are not being made accountable for their actions. This is what infuriates most football followers.

The recent umpire collisions is a case in point. It was made to be solely a player responsibility instead of a duel player/umpire responsibility.

Looks like they have more dollars then sense down at AFL House

Don't agree Dan. I've actually posted here before about the fact that Essendon (esp. Joe Misiti) chuck the ball a helluva lot, though nothing much was made of it at the time. Its something I have definitely noticed, no doubt about it. From me I can promise you its not Essendon bashing - I have noticed Essendon do it, but NOT other sides, on a consistent basis. Last year in the prelim final it was there in abundance, but the umps didn't pay it. At least in the round 3 game they DID notice it. Go back and watch the replays if you like and you'll see what I mean.

This is NOT Essendon bashing. Essendon throw the ball more than any other side, by a long way.

No, I actually posted that thread about smokin Joe before the season even started, during the ansett cup I think. Its something I noticed all through last year, and have noticed this year as well. I just mentioned Misiti because he was the chief offender up until he got injured. But many other of your players are guilty as well. There are plenty of other things that go on that are definitely bomber bashing, but I don't think that this is one of them. If so, why would people have picked up on throwing in particular, if it didn't at least have some merit?

In round 3 in the Carlton game it seemed that it was the only time that the umps picked up on it correclty. It drove me absolutely insane shouting at the umps everytime we played Essendon last year. I never had this problem when we played other sides....yet apparently I am Essendon bashing.....?

Too true....but I don't believe people who say that about SOS are 'Blue bashing' - SOS bends the rules and gets away with it a lot - same as Essendon do with chucking (actually, Essendon completely break the rules with blatant throws, whilst SOS does what most other backmen do anyway )

Watched the game last night - saw the same old throws again. Just wait till Mercuri and Misiti return, they'll take chucking to a new level.

And Mantis, the smile icon meant I was joking. Still, I do admit that Silvagni does what he does, but do you admit what Essendon do (ie. chuck)?

Btw Essendon topped the official stats in throws - no lightening quick hand-passes about it. Essendon may also top this year's with the 'scoop' ball - Rioli is often caught with this one.

I understand your passion, but watching or listening to an Essendon game, you guys WHINGE and WHINGEand WHINGE if a free goes against you; last night was a good example - you are starting to sound like Moron Park.

SOS is renowned for holding on - he is not called the octopus for nothing. Hird (great player) is untouchable and so is Lloyd but Essendon supporters cannot see this.

Now you are starting on the scoop, Rioli did it once last night & had the free kick given against him.

Stop your Bomber bashing & admit that the Bombers are a brilliant team, with talented, skillful players. But you can't do that because you are so blinded by your hatred of anything Essendon, maybe you should marry rooboy, you & him would get on real well.

Forgive us if we seemed a little forward in our condemnation of your posts, but the last time you showed up (1-2 months) ago, nearly ALL of your posts had a decidely anti-Essendon flavour.... thus the jibes about 125 + 85 etc (remember that? )....

I also remember you giving Hird heaps, but when the focus was turned onto Carey, you didn't seem so able to cop it on the chin so easily. We didn't hear from you for a while after that...

BOTH of them are legendary players (only idiots would disagree), however that doesn't mean i have to like Carey (I can't stand him!) - just as it doesn't mean you have to like Hird (although I can't see why you wouldn't! )

I don't believe we 'whinge' more than other teams with regards to perceived 'bad' umpiring decisions, it might just seem louder when we play you guys 'cos there's a lot more of us than North Supporters!
