The boo-birds weren't rooting for the Geelong Cats. They were season ticket holders of the Hawthorn Hawks. The same folks were crying in the bleachers when Tomahawk hit his walk off home run in 2012 and high-fiving a few months later when Burgoyne helped snap the 11 game win streak in the playoffs .

Your storied franchise hasn't won a championship in decades. You've been in the basement for so long that you've forgotten what it's like to get liqoured up at the tailgate party and root for a dominating organisation.

Love a good boo
Part of the atmosphere of the game

It’s almost a backhanded compliment when opp supporters boo champion players

If a rival player racks up 25 possies and kicks 3 goals or takes an amazing mark I’m not going to cheer for them because they are putting my team to the sword And I want my team to win the game but in the same time it’s a way of acknowledging that player and what they are doing on the field without showing support

It’s the same reason why it’s the champions that cop it not depth players

I have started a new religion Boo'o'holics. Every follower of my religion has the religious right to boo whoever they want. If you don't agree with my religion you will go to hell.

mods please close this thread as it goes against all my beliefs and religiously vilifies me.

You can be booed for religion but not for race

It’s important to know what is immoral or not these days
If people were booing him because of the social media thing, it was because of an action he undertook not his religious beliefs.

Anyways I booed him because everyone else was.

He said that all gay people (and a lot of others) are going to hell and that is an important distinction than just saying they were not going to heaven

View attachment 659865

Whether you believe in hell or not (I personally don't) does not matter as Folau and Ablett do, and since they do believe in it by posting this, or liking it, they are saying that they want the above groups to go to hell, they want the above groups to go to a place where they will experience unimaginable pain and suffering for eternity.

To me, wanting that for almost anyone is pretty close to evil.
As far as I know neither Folau or Ablett have stated that they "want" these groups to go to hell, it's more likely they want these groups to stop what they believe is sinning.

You're speculating what someone wants and that someone I'm tipping you've never spoke to. Since when have you become a mind reader?

Not sure why booing is such an issue. It literally happens in every sport. Ever seen a soccer player return to play at his old clubs stadium? It looks like 70% of them are ready to charge the pitch any moment they get the ball.

It's part of sport, making the opposition feel uncomfortable is the whole idea of home field advantage. You think AFL players being booed is brutal, wait until you see what Smith and Warner (and maybe Bancroft :moustache:) are going to cop in England...

If Bachar Houli came out with a homophobic statement citing the Koran then it would be ok to condemn him, but it would be his homophobia that was being condemned not his religion. It's not that hard really.

Isn’t it one in the same? How do you separate it when His religion has an issue with homosexuality

His religious views are that homosexuality is wrong based on some very ancient texts - not something his has magicked up for convenience

I don’t agree - all religions seem hypocritical to me

but it provides quite the vexing conundrum that fundamental rights to religion and a fundamental right to sexual freedom clash

However it’s not the masses that decide what is right - but a very vocal subsection that decides what is and isn’t offensive and imposes that on everyone else

Gaz is a Christian, Christians believe homosexuality is a sin and they believe a sin will land you in the firey pits of hell. I don't agree with any of this obviously but people like Gaz do because it is their religious right to do so.
Wrong. They do it because they are hateful, moronic assholes. Anyone who continues to belong to a cult which promises that those not in the cult will burn forever is a ******* uncivilised asshole. Yes, that's YOU, Gary.

People are effectively shitting on someone for being religious.
And they thoroughly deserve to be shat on.

Humans imvented a mythical God that hates gays because that sounded logical. Abblett Jnr. has brainwashed written all over him.
Humans also invented sports which give a sense of comfort and enjoyment. Religion provides the same to thing to those that believe. Besides, we are all brainwashed to a certain degree.

I've never understood why people can't understand how religion provides a path for some people through this mystery called life. I mean you can say God is mythical, but that is a really naive statement. From a scientific perspective, we haven't even scratched the surface on our understanding of consciousness. Is God real or not? Who really knows. But to say it's a myth is just silly.

I'm guessing you are one of those types of people who parade the ideology of diversity and inclusivity. Your comments above really don't match up with this.

You’ve got some problems mate. I’d see someone... I am being serious. There are people who use their religion to hate. But most to work out the mystery of life. Good luck with yours.

Gary Jnr can think whatever he wants, no matter how twisted, but he needs to realise that while he's an employee of the AFL he's subject to their policies.

If Gary want to be employed by the AFL and receive a pay check, he needs to cease vilifying groups of people (which includes endorsing the views of someone else vilifying groups of people).

Why are you using the word in the singular? Thousands of gods have been fabricated. Should we be sitting on the fence about all of them? Or just your favourite one? The fact is that your favourite god comes with exactly the same amount of supporting evidence as the thousands of other gods that you know are fake. That amount is zero. The obvious fact is that any book which contains talking snakes, zombies, a 600 year old man building a boat, land animals crossing oceans to board that boat, and a magic invisible floating weirdo in the sky is axiomatically a work of fiction.

I'm guessing you are one of those types of people who parade the ideology of diversity and inclusivity. Your comments above really don't match up with this.
Guess again, godboy.
