Last person I booed was Harbhajan Singh so it's been a while, not really my thing these days. Today the TV went off 20 seconds after the game so I couldn't even boo from my couch.

The booing doesn't happen if Collingwood win by a couple of goals. Getting done by a couple of points after some contentious decisions/non-decisions in the last quarter, especially in the last minute, I think the fans at the game would have booed Santa Claus after that.

Not my kind of deal but meh.

i boo'd the umpires and i boo'd pendles.
I thought it was a terribly umpired game i honestly didn't think he deserved the medal.

Does this mean i'm spitting in the face of the Anzac's, **** no.
I paid my respect to the true heroes at 5:00am this morning and again pre match.

I liked that shizenhousen cullingwooooood murmur being drowned out, ******* beautiful, even after they had won. As for Essendon supporters copping it for booing everything that moved post match, I'll say, in our defence, that straight after the siren, of course they're going to be feral, and of all clubs to be offended !! ******* collingwood, what a joke that is.
But that should make their win sweeter, I would've loved it if the roles were reversed. Weak as ******* piss, waiting/ wanting to be offended. So soft.

So you’d be all cool if Collingwood fans booed Hird after an ANZAC game?

The umps did shocking calls both ways, pretty ordinary to boo and it was coming directly from the Ess cheer squad so they can’t blame non members or some other excuse.

You were never in the lead during the entire game and yet I’m in some bizarro world where you were robbed.
Well we dont have to worry about that because Collingwood fans DID do this constantly.

They also chanted over the top of Nick Riewoldt during his speech at the grand final day parade to the point that he stopped talking cause no one could hear him

They did it to Jobe Watson on ANZAC day 2017.
They booed Luke Shuey last year when he won the Norm Smith.

So how about you stop this moral high horse crap as the hypocrisy that stems from Collingwood supporters getting upset at another club booing their player would be funny if it wasnt so mind boggling.

Have posted numerous times that booing is a negative emotion - Cheer your players is a positive emotion - Can find no way to stop booing, though it detracts from the game.
I boo your post. How do you like them apples campaigner?

Campaigner was not auto-corrected either. I much prefer it to the other word.

That last sentence is stupid. Not having actually hit the lead means we weren't robbed? We were within a kick!! So one goal, either way, would win the game.

This game reminded me a lot of the Grand final. Collingwood gets off to a flier but is outplayed for the rest of the game. The difference being Essendon butchered the ball in the forward 50 a few times in the end. The umpiring had a huge influence on the game.

Both teams walk away from that game knowing they are capable of putting together some great footy.

If booing pains them so very much despite the fact they snuck away with the win, I’m all for those in attendance to boo until they’re hoarse in the return fixture later in the year and on every occasion thereafter. **** the campaigners.

Honestly a storm in a teacup, people have been booing players since Adam was a boy.

Just remember that this day and what it stands for is bigger than two footy clubs, 44 players and 92000 fans that were there.

Booing will probably happen tomorrow, happen next week, and the years after that. At the end of every half the umpires a booed off the ground as I am sure they're booed as they are walking back out.

I’ve heard that viewpoint mate but if you watch again you’ll see that the umpires had well and truly left the arena and the booing only really picked up not when Pendles went up to accept his award, but when he started speaking.

The booing started from the moment the siren went onwards, I pretty much left straight away and they were clearly already booing, it was quite aggressive considering the occasion but it was aimed at the umps.

It was aimed at the umps until Pendlebury gave a look to the Olympic stand section while mentioning the crowd. Then the boos, which had started to fade, increased and went on him. I think it was more for the look he gave than his David Hille free kick.

Don't blame me, I was booing Worsfold.

Virtue signalling and PC is dividing society, not for the better. There was no racism or any other form of attack on a vulnerable person or group. Fair game I say. The worlds gone mad.
It isn't PC. I agree with you that we should not be picking on those in vulnerable positions. The problem is that we now have a situation with people of the ultimate privledge (a white sportsman living in close to the richest and most stable country on the planet) thinking they can't be booed.

I love the boo. It used to be more prevalent. It is a truly Aussie thing to do to bring people back down to earth. We're Aussies and the tall poppy syndrome is a great thing to a certain extent.

I remember Bob Hawke, who was one of the most popular PMs in modern history (1984) who hadn't dragged us into any wars or completely offended our first nation, getting massive boos at the 83 or 84 GF. Then Howard suffering from disastrous opinion ratings, denying climate change, post Iraq war and deeply hated in Aboriginal Australia getting clapped and cheered at 2006 Commonwealth Games. This is the man that was 1 year away from being the first ever sitting PM about to lose their own seat.

My things have changed. Since then they want us to tug our forelocks at these pampered athletes, to cheer leaders who transfer wealth from the working class to the wealthy (and damage our planet) and turn ANZAC into a celebration of nationalism when we should spend this day dismayed by the lives destroyed by nationalism.

Boo I say. BOOOOOO ******* HOOOO

I wasn't a fan of the booing but i respect everyone's right to engage in it. However this cartoon by the heraldsun posted in Robbo's latest article is a ******* disgrace. It's totally unnecessary and defaming everyone involved with EFC. I'd complain if i was you guys.

I left the minute the final siren went in disgust so I wasn’t even remotely aware of it until a bit later.

It’s not been my style to boo like that so I doubt I would have done it had I still been there. But I also personally couldn’t care less and the extent of the still predictable outrage about it rather bemuses me.
I'm in this exact same boat. I left 30sec prior to final siren and feel the same reason booing.

Anyone associating the booing of Pendlebury with disrespecting the ANZAC's can take a chill pill. People booed the umpiring, the result and as a way of letting off steam... Those people paid their hard earned money and if they feel the need to make a noise with their mouths, they can.

Who really gives a ****?

That's where my seat is and they were booing hard when the siren went but I left before the presentation.

I booed. Loud and proud from final siren until Nafan Bloodwiping Buckley got done with his hypocritical moralising.

**** this result. It was a dirty, rotten fix that I didn’t have the right to ignore.

As far as I’m concerned, being a supporter of any sports team means not caring what others outside your borders think. I don’t pay hundreds of dollars in membership and invest untold amounts of mental anguish into this club every year to have to worry about the fee-fees of our enemies. Besides, I seriously doubt Scotty’s at home with his ill-gotten medal around his neck crying his poor little eyes out because some people made a noise.

Apologise? Miss me with that shit. I’ll apologise when the AFL and their attack dog umpires apologise to us, admit their cheating and declare the match no result. Until then, they can go to hell.
