When was the last time we pulled one of these games out when we weren't expected to ??

Virtually everyone predicting a slaughter and rubbishing the Crows this week including the media. The players must hear some of it. I know how i would come out to play if i'd been labled as sh*t all week. We beat Geelong with an inspired performance not that long ago. Lets see how much character our team has tonight. Crows by 16pts.
If the players respond in the right way, we could win.

But even if we don't it is still a good result.

WL are irrelevant thus year. Playing good footy and good development is.

If a by-product of that are wins, that is a bonus.

GWS game was trash, as was the second half against Hawthorn and a lot of the Freo and North games. Need to stop that bleeding.

Geelong game.

That was a full four quarter effort playing great Footy.

This group can do it.

We will win.
Cmon Boys i am pumped. 2 wins in one afternoon on one ground in front of 30,000 port supporters and maybe 10,000 crows. I will be there barracking hard and lets go boys. We can do this.

Friends of the AFC some know me as a troll but this time genuinely i have a question all i want is an answer

Help me understand why you guys rate Fog ? I mean we all like blokes who don't mind a bit of biff but that's not enough to base a career on and I just don't see what he offers you at all

If he was pick 112 not 12 is he even on a list still ?

Any other time you can tell me to GAGF but this time I just want to know

Port Powers gave away the Bayley Fritsch pick to get Jack Watts

It's a fair question, one which we've been debating on this board for the last 2-3 weeks (maybe too much so, to the annoyance of many).

Many Crows supporters are seduced by his right leg, and to be fair, it's a truly elite weapon. His ability to kick accurately, over long distances and wide angles, is truly phenomenal. His goal kicking accuracy is better even than that of the great Tony Lockett.

Unfortunately, that's the only aspect of his game which is AFL standard. He's slow, and lacks agility, and doesn't get involved enough. He'd be a massive weapon as a forward if he could average 12-15 disposals per game, but he averages less than 9 (and his average is inflated by 2 recent games where he was trialled unsuccessfully in the midfield).

He's a high impact, low disposal, type of player. The question is whether or not he's capable of impacting games often enough, given that he almost always has a low disposal count. In the words of Jason Dunstall: "probably not".

Geebus Doc, did you get out of here alive?

Personally, I think he is a slow maturer. I'd rather him deep forward, but reckon Nicks will try and have him run with Wines tonight.

Now, do I dare visit the Port board???

If they can get his agility and tank up he could be a decent forward/mid.

His forward craft is pretty good. We could just stick him up forward and stall his development there. Be a 1.8 goals per game sub 10 disposal firward.

I personally think him playing in the middle is about learning to be a better forward. Capable of contributing when not kicking goals. Tex went through this, with his mentor Tredrea. Some of Tex's best plays are up the ground firing out a hand ball or an inside 50 kick.

Fog is going through that now.

Plug and play when Tex retires.

Yep, he needs to learn some more tricks.

Playing midfield should help that.

You put a lot of effort into a response that that asker didn't even care about the answer to

Admit I live in Melbourne, but I still lul at the Crows fans who "wont go to a Port home game Showdown"... :$
I never really understood either.
There’s a couple of explanations given to me over time
One was the season tickets are not valid for their games and hence you need to by a ticket. Not always good seating or affordable
Not also wanting to fund Port
The others relate to the crowd being a Port majority of which is “uncomfortable” ( being polite here )

Away Showdowns used to be my favourite games.

But the group if Port supporters I went with no longer go with stopped going to their games as they are sick of Ken Hinkleys false dawns.
