The Bronzed Plugger.

I have been going to the SCG since 1992, a time when you could introduce yourself to half the crowd during a game.

Or choose which tier you wanted to yourselves in each quarter. Did that vs. either Melbourne or Carlton (memory fuzzy) circa 93.

Maybe the sculptor was putting aside some clay for a potential Derek Kickett statue... that's my only explanation for Lockett's physique.

Someone shouldve dropped a shit, put it on a plaque - and called
it plugger, the bloke is a WASTE

I have been going to the SCG since 1992, a time when you could introduce yourself to half the crowd during a game. Plugger wasn't the only reason people started going to the SCG from mid 1995. Paul Kelly played his part as did Roos, Kickett, Lewis, Luff, Dunkley, Barry etc. Winning was the main reason people came to the SCG. Started in the centre, Plugger kicked goals and Eade designed a mid field squeeze and a defensive flood to stop the opposition scoring.

They were all good players but the main reason we started winning games was due to one man - Lockett.
You're right, winning games was the key but he was the reason we were winning games and I know people who actually went just to watch him.
