Docherty is a real deal AFL player and leader. Tick.
C Curnow bring a level of x-factor that we haven't had in a long time. Nice little green sprouty tick.
Cripps is a set and forget beast. Tick.

None of this is news, but these are the guys who I'm happy to say "yep, we've seen what we need to see there" and start looking harder elsewhere.

I think the next thing our garden needs is some blood and bone fertilizer. I'd go big on selling anyone over 26yo with currency, right up to the top, to be honest, and buy more seeds in the draft.

No doubt I'm a one-out here but I see tiny green shoots in Phillips. He's raw and lacks strength but has a leap and is mobile.

I hope we as a club and supporters don't give up on him too soon.

We bailed on a promising big red-headed ruckman not so long ago, and it didn't go well for us. There are definitely some signs of Phillips having something to offer.

One thing i've actually liked in the first three rounds is that the team seems to be getting tweaked each week with a gradual move to introducing fresh talent and players earning their spot. Hopefully this continues and players come in over the course of the year replacing guys who wont be there next year, the year after and the one after that.

I will condition myself to look beyond results as long as the young talent wants to play to this plan.
Teams can turn corners when some established senior players move on e.g. Collingwood once Buckley retired, Bulldogs after losing senior stars to the expansion teams.
I just think sometimes clubs need to rid themselves of players that have been part of a bad era. New era now, but the younger generation need to fully take it over from the guys like Murphy, Gibbs, Simmo, Kreuzer etc and make this team their own.

Waiting to see Plowman, DVR, Cuningham, Jaksch, Sumner and Silvagni given a chance before the end of the year. Wouldn't mind Jones given another opportunity at some stage, hell even Gorringe, to see if they can offer anything up forward...couldn't be any worse than what we've seen.

Not surprised. He has been a great pick up and is a very handy player to have around the young guys that are new to the AFL system. I hope his good form continues.

fill in the XXX's as you like - I don't rate any of the current senior players anymore and I don't care what they do or don't do as long as they don't hold back development of young blokes who will replace all of them..

bring on : Graham, Cuningham DVR Sumner Sheehan Big Mc SOSOS Gaduci - whoever- as long as they don't have a history of failure and an ability to score an easy earn from Carlton. All the senior players are role players or trade bait - very little care about any of them anymore - coach killers.

I'm very excited to see the next 2 years of transformation - that is the biggest positive - the journey.
