Yes but it is the umpires award. Just get the AFL to make the MVP the brownlow. Umpires award then stays as it is and no one cares.

The win in 2014 from Priddis who's side didn't even made September, let alone was in the All-Australian team or even won the Eagles' B&F award was the beginning of the end

But in saying that he did have a very good year and was very stiff to miss AA. Go have a look at his tackles, contested possessions, clearances etc. We could actually do with another Priddis right about now.

The players sit through meetings looking at oppo either indirectly (reviewing their own game) or directly (to train for or negate) when half of them say they don’t watch any football they are talking off the clock not in working hours.
A lot of them don’t consume media so you can say they are less influenced as well.
They also get hindsight over the 20 odd rds.
To think the players just throw a dart on voting day is a bit of a stretchp
No WA base player has won the coaches award, not cousins,Judd,cox,Fyfe,Pav does that lessen the award?

What some of us are moaning about is why the hell umpires are burdened with it and if it was to be judged by a panel in the stands would we get a broader cross section of voting
For context I umpire Amos footy and I hate doing votes . It’s just not on my mind at all , I just want to focus on the game .
