The Bulldogs and Umpires: Time for a Royal Commission?

Yes he does. He's also been out injured for nearly 12 months and is only 1 player.

Okay, how about Weightman?

Happy to keep going with more examples after you say yes to him too.

Also, what he does is not by definition cheating

No, of course not. I believe the word you used to describe it is 'disciplined'.

I don't believe anybody said it was. But they are the clubhouse leaders.

Cool story Hansel.

One guy out for 12 months, another has only played 3 games in his career and um err Mitch Wallis? :D

I can see this free kick imbalance is a real problem for us and explains the dearth of free kicks paid compared to what we actually earn.

Our speed and tenacity sees so many opposition players pressured into error that the umps get reluctant to play a lot of the HTB and Incorrect disposal, because the political correct imbeciles expect an even free kick count.

We might have to just manage on the +5 differential for most of the year.

We all know it should be more like +15:cool:

It's not just the fact they win the FK count (when they do they win handsomely too and early as well which makes a huge difference) it's thru non-paid throws, HTB, unpaid marks against them, etc...

Journalists need to dig deeper like they did with Essendon; the Federal police should be tapping and monitoring the umpires and Bulldogs officials.

lol, there’s a conspiracy board for this tin foil hat stuff

They do chuck it a bit more than most teams, but other than that I'm not sure there is an issue here

Of course you don't, you support the only team in the league that ducks and cheats as much as the Dogs do.

Uh oh, spaghettios:

"GREATER Western Sydney football boss Jason McCartney is under investigation by the AFL after unleashing a 'tirade' at the umpires at half-time of Friday night's clash against the Western Bulldogs.

Witnesses to the incident have said that McCartney burst into the umpires' rooms at the break to approach them about what he perceived as incorrect decisions for the Giants during the first half of the club's 39-point loss at Manuka Oval.

The 47-year-old is expected to be issued with a 'please explain' from the AFL."

Sounds like McCartney probably created this thread, haha. Strange for someone who was previously highly involved at the Bulldogs...

Cant blame him. GWS we’re getting railed in that first half. The Bont chin tap to Greene was case in point. Should have just been play-on. Green’s a grub but he just retaliated.

Well done to McCartney for directing his focus towards the very important free kicks which clearly had a huge impact on the result, as you can see by the revealing score worm. Win the free kicks and the scorecard will take care of itself.

The free kick count was +8 to the Bulldogs in the first half, and +7 to the Giants in the second half. Meanwhile, the scoreboard was +8 to the Bulldogs in the 1st half (obviously due entirely to all the free kicks we were getting) and +34 in the 2nd half.

Imagine how much the Bulldogs would have won by if we weren't getting destoryed by the those cheating umps in the 2nd!

Given Bevo is known as one of the most empathetic and emotionally intelligent people in the AFL world, he probably butters the umpires up over a coffee and they subconsciously favour the dogs due to the friendly relationship which is in stark comparison to the approach of complaining coming from other coaches.

Delicious tears.

For sure. But there's a difference between getting pissed on field - coaches/players etc. and actually storming into a private room after the fact, to tear them down.

Pretty strange, and honestly not something I've ever heard of happening before. If Scott did this, the footy world would have a field day with it, haha

Yep. A little observation or but of a whine at the time is ok.

Genuinely cracking it over the umpires is a loser's game

When are the AFL going to investigate the umpiring in Bulldogs games? There was a reason for McCartney's tirade, like you said the Giants got shafted by the umpires in the first half so you can understand his frustration.

Given your side has a trophy cabinet hole like this one, I can understand your frustration....

Bulldogs should ask the AFL to investigate the umpires given after McCartneys tirade the umpires provided a lopsided free kick count to GWS 10 to 4. That’s just unacceptable. Imagine if it were even dogs could have done better than 10.7 67 v 5.6 36 in the second half. Cost us 3-4 more goals obviously
