If anyone missed the bump on Josh Kennedy earlier in the year which effectively cost Dustin Martin the Rising Star award, just have a look at the one Daniel Cross was cleared on today. Almost an exact replica, except that Cross came in with a bit more force.

Haven't seen it for a while but from what I remember Martin was looking at the ball and protected himself by turning his body. It was unfortunate that he made contact with the guys head.

who cares whether or not he wins a meaningless award?

if anything it'll just make dusty that much more angry and eager to come out and tear the competition a new one in the next few years.

i think he can live without the managed NAB portfolio that comes with the rising star award, with all the coin he's going to get from us.
