Better still - dont give it to him and we will pick him up next year when he's pissed off. ;)

Jack is also a target for GWS :thumbsu:

Though neither will go for one reason, loyalty to the club.
As well as that fact, they'd be smarter staying with a Premiership in sights...
And who would want to be coached by Sheedy?

AGREE:)

Luckily Roosy will be coach once old man Sheeds contract runs out.

Hannerbury, Rohan and Co would love to play under Roos again:D

Roos has a 5yr contract with the Academy, once that is finished I dare say he'll resign or retire. Why would he want to have to repair another team after an old hack had touched it?

Hope they scrap the 3 captain rubbish.

Goodes until he retires, then one of Jack or Bird depending on how things go over the next 2-3 years (Jack the obvious candidate at the moment).

It's a 3 year contract with the Academy. His Fox contract is also for 3 years.

He made it known that he wasn't happy with some of the things GWS was doing when it about the be announced as the 18th team and he also stated he was concerned with how the Swans would come out of it.

He will not coach another AFL side. I have full faith in his word as he has shown to be a man who is fully bounded to his convictions and will stick by what he thinks and believes.

Yawn. The same reason Paul Roos has been actively signing NSWelshmen from other clubs for the past five years.

I don't see how sole captaincy could really have a bad effect on Goodes. It's made Jobe Watson a better player, and Goodes is more experienced and more senior. It would inspire him if anything.

do I understand you right? You want a NSWman as a captain, and you want it to be Goodes?

Yeah you're spot on....

Under a one man captaincy, elevate Goodes to the Captain. Goodes has 3 years left in his career. When he retires, Jack will be 25 or 26, to which he will be old enough, and will assume Captaincy.

Jack is the NSW-Captain in discussion, not Goodes.

Learn to read, and post with less blinding rage please.

Don't like the 3 captain policy. I'm hoping it doesn't continue long term and is phased out. While Kirk was with us we had 3 captains but he was the true captain. In 2011 we might have 3 captains again but Goodes will be the true captain.

Ideally Goodes is the only captain from next year, when he retires it goes to Jack. He is a natural leader, he's young, he's a brownlow talent and he has the respect of the guys coming through.

As for this NSW/non NSW bs. Who cares. They're all swans.

I was pleased to read that Horse prefers a one Captain team.Personally I don't think Goodes is the man for the job.I have often questioned his decisions at times when he does not do the team thing eg he'll have a long ping at the sticks when there has been someone he could have passed to in a much better spot. For me,I would give Bolton,Jude variety the gig until his retirement. He gives his heart and soul to the club and would be a fine example for the next gen to learn from.

I like an 11 captain model. Each player is either leading or being led at any one time. Nothing can or will ever go wrong. Motivation will always be high.

Can you imagine those 11 pairs of hands all grasping the premiership cup ?

EDIT :

On second thoughts 11 captains is just silly. What we really need is a military style hierarchical model but with a rotating captaincy for each quarter based on a needs adjusted player position empowering analysis conducted during the breaks.

1 Hyper captain - a purely ceremonial position which answers to no-one
3 Super captains - answer to Horse and the Hyper Captain
6 Captain captains - answer to the Super captains
10 Sub captains - who answer to all the other captains
2 grunts - attract the ire of the fans

1 Super Saiyan - a purely ceremonial position which answers to no-one
3 Super captains - answer to Horse and the Hyper Captain
6 Captain captains - answer to the Super captains
10 Sub captains - who answer to all the other captains
2 grunts - attract the ire of the fans
