I wouldn't put too much heat on the Cheer Squad. Well regulated at all clubs these days. Just victims of the corporate AFL.
In the past the CCS like other cheer squads were very entertaining and creative. Huge run throughs with uncensored messages, streamers, torn up phone books shredded and thrown into the air, Navy Blue and White crepe paper made into floggers and heaved in unison. I have to stop now, it's getting too emotional.![]()
Mention it to Abbott and he is going to get Turnbull to kill the internet properly in Australia so that the PM doesnt have to worry about all these people taking things to him...Not sure a boofhead like Abbott is gonna help tbh.
Have you seen our cheer squad? Between the young bloke who cracks the shits if he doesn't lead the chant and that thing with the rat tail, who's going to be coming out with anything remotely witty?
EFAMention it to Abbott and he is going to get Turnbull to kill the internet properly in Australia so that the PM doesnt have to worry about all these people on BF.....
We are celebrating our 150th year as a football club, and yet the wit of our cheer squad seems to not progress or developed at all. While the chant "Carlton clap clap clap, Carlton clap clap clap" means everyone at the game can get involved and provides a bit of motivation, it's sort of boring and is really just not unique, as nearly every club in the AFL chants exactly the same thing. Take a look at the English Premier league, some ingenious chants going around.
It would be great if the cheersquad could come up with a range of chants that are witty and individualised to certain teams and even our own players to ignite a bit of passion. It would mean we were the only club to do so and would make our players proud of a unique supporter base.
I realise we have much bigger issues right now but just wanted to know what you guys think? (Plus im bored shitless)
