Yep I agree with your thinking - I'm just questioning whether Teague is up to keeping positive momentum and whether the Club is putting enough thought into continual over all culture and development.

btw - insightful comment on the difference between competing against the market and other competitors doing same - and a football Club. Still the management principles are the same - the time frame is different as you say.

Competition is now getting very close- the notion of low middling and finals sides is not too spread as it used to be. Cant see any 'easy games' this year.

Again, this decision should have been made at the end of the 2019 season. Sit down and evaluate all of the available coaches, their records, strengths & weaknesses etc and then make a decision. Instead, the Board sacked BB mid-season and appointed Teague as stand-in coach. The Board received feedback that the players liked Teague who managed to pull a few wins, and they decided to persevere with him. Did they at least surround him with an experienced mentor(s)? No. In the meantime, Pyke has gone to Sydney and Williams to Melbourne and we are stuck with Barker. This is where the CEO & the Board are clearly nieve and continuing with the insane practices that have resulted in the CFC having their worst 20 years ever.

If at the end of this season Teague does not meet the KPI's set for him (finals?) and he is sacked, we then have to look for a new coach. This means new assistants, new game plans, the coach evaluating the list and determining who he does and does not want. Coaches like Lyon & he shall not be named are notorious for their structures etc. Another 2 or 3 wasted years as all of this is put into place. Irrespective of which coach they appoint, there will always be a number of players they will not like and will actively try and get rid of, which will result in friction. We could have had an experienced former coach mentoring Teague which would have fast-tracked his development. Instead we have Brad Lloyd as Head of Football? If Lyon is appointed as coach, he will be the first to go.

Matt Rendall is out there in the wilderness. A man with a lot of experience and knowledge especially about the draft, has been proven 100% correct about what he said of Collingwood, about their structure and their game plan. There are many others out there.

Unless the club falls away alarmingly, we should stick with Teague and bolster the support around him with some experienced heads and get rid of the dead wood that has been hanging around for too long.

No one is saying sack Teague - but as a team, coaching and in particualr development staff always need to be an area of continual investment if a Club wishes to have sustainable success and relevancy.

Such an interesting and emotionally charged discussion. I was appalled when 1st found out the origins of our club song( some time ago now).

People need time to process.
It originated as a superb melody with atrocious lyrics. The melody was retained and made use of because it was so catchy and likeable.
You could say the melody was rescued and retained because it was good. What was not good was discarded.
The melody therefore, can be seen as something symbolic of evolving thought. It symbolises a positive evolution from an unenlightened era.

Bearing in mind that even if something does not offend us, it might offend or be painful to others...we turn to our own indigenous brothers and ask how they feel. (About the song lyric's racist beginnings)
Their answer is clear.
No problemo.
Therefore, our way forward is clear.
'Dadadadahda' people.
Over time, the melody has been liberated from the clutches of ignorance.
This is good.(imho)
Uncovering and examining is also good.
I’ve always thought in modern era the club song’s beat is far too slow. The tempo needs to be more up beat amd fun.

There was an active push in 1976 to change the club song to a more upbeat one, like the Chelsea FC song. Whilst it has a better beat, not sure it is a song you can sing after a game as a group...It could be used as a marketing tool.

Imagine each club having a rap version of song
Like it would be cool to see what Snoop Dogg could do with our lyrics.

We deserve everything journos throw at us
Circle up, look in the mirror, not sure what but something needs to change
SpS, Dow, LOB, Cunners if they were offering half as much as Walsh, things would be different.
Development has been a problem that has been with us for years.
Footy is so much about headspace and it seems the Blues just can't get it right.
Give me 20k less members any day and the footy club that wanted to win all the time.

Not enough Desire on our list, or Pride. The Helter Skelter game plan has me and U2 confused.
We ain't rattling or Humming anytime soon.

Still haven't found what I'm looking for

Now I'm gonna stop
