So a little girl had the temerity to be born this weekend five year ago and, as such, there will be a celebratiom with small gatherings on both Saturday and Sunday morning. A lot of effort is going into the first one with her Kindergarten friends and the latter is for some family to come.
Now - would the father be the arseh*le if he watched the footy Saturday afternoon instead of watching the recording after she's in bed, or does it sound reasonable given the circumstances? Asking for a friend...

Just make sure the father is in heaps of photos and videos early. He should try to have a couple of funny memorable 'moments' then he can safely disappear while everyone is distracted.
He can then point to photos and videos as evidence he was there all along.
Might also help if he volunteers for cleanup duties after the game is over.

It's not even a coward as much as it is someone that needs help.
How does one come about with the idea - If I can upset someone today, my life will be better for it?
I still feel we handle this whole issue the wrong way. Name and shame isn't the answer.
Disappointment and sadness for the individuals and a call out to support gives them exactly what they need but may not want.
Getting angry just feeds the sad ego.
I genuinely feel sorry for them.
If you're truly a racist, then you're a racist but on what grounds? What entitles you to feel better about yourself than another based upon factors outside the scope of your control?
I wouldn't call them out with hate, but call them out offering a helping hand, because they have the problem....if they think about it.
Make them think. It's much more powerful. Don't just feed them more fuel.
Eddie has spoken in the past how he's tried to have conversations with individuals and tried to educate them on what they're actually doing in the past. For him to have called someone out like this probably means he wasn't able to do anything for this person/this isn't the first time this person has done it.
Further to that, the environment at the moment is very much to call people out for what they're doing. I think the phase we're in now is to bring attention to how frequently this actually happens. It's easy for us to act like it isn't happening that often and isn't a big deal because these guys do try and sort it out behind the scenes so there's no visibility. Now people are making it visible and I think it's a good thing as we see how often these guys are targeted.
It's about getting as many people as possible to realise how big the issue is. Once enough people accept that it's a massive issue and are motivated to help solve the problem the next stage is education, but people much smarter than I will figure out how to do that. For now, naming and shaming has it's place. Especially for anonymous profiles where no individual is damaged by the revelation that this profile is a racist alt account.
